1. Disaster- A sudden accident or a natural catastrophe that causes great damage or loss of life.

2. Disaster Risk- Are possible outcomes from disasters like loss of lives, injury, or destruction of

properties

3. Natural Disaster: Are disasters created by nature or Naturally occurred like Hurricane, Flood,

Earthquake, Tornadoes, Volcanic Eruption, Tsunamis and etc.

4. Human-made Disaster- Man-made disasters have an element of human intent, negligence or

error involving a failure of a man-made system, as opposed to natural disasters resulting from

natural hazards. Man-made disasters can include hazardous material spills, fires, groundwater

contamination, transportation accidents, structure failures, mining accidents, explosions and

acts of terrorism.
