SUMMARY:

With access to the HP-GL/2 printer language, it will be possible to print from applications that require
HP-GL/2. Most Windows programs do not require HP -GL/2.

The HP-GL/2 Accessory card comes with 16 MB of additional memory on the card. Another 128 MB
can be added by using the memory slot on the HP -GL/2 Accessory Card to bring the maximum
memory to 160 MB.

NOTE: Memory can only be added to the HP Designjet 500 printer if the HP -GL/2
Accessory card is installed.

The HP-GL/2 Accessory card allows the print job to be processed in the printer instead of on the
computer. This processing in the printer clears the network much faster and uses fewer network
resources.

Using the HP-GL/2 Accessory card can use less of the computer’s resources because the processing

is done on the printer.

NOTE: When using the Adobe (R) PostScript (R) Software RIP with the Designjet
500PS printer, the HP -GL/2 Accessory card will not use fewer network or computer
resources.
