UJIAN MADRASAH
TAPEL 2020-2021
1. Built in the 10th century, Prambanan Temple is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in
Indonesia. Rising above the centre of the last of these concentric squares are three temples decorated
with reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities (Shiva,
Vishnu and Brahma) and three temples dedicated to the animals which serve them. Prambanan Temple
Compounds consist of Prambanan Temple (also called Loro Jonggrang), Sewu Temple, Bubrah Temple
and Lumbung Temple. Prambanan Temple itself is a complex consisting of 240 temples. All the
mentioned temples form the Prambanan Archaeological Park and were built during the heyday of
Sailendra’s powerful dynasty in Java in the 8th century AD. These compounds are located on the border
between the two provinces of Yogyakarta and Central Java on Java Island. While Loro Jonggrang,
dating from the 9th century, is a brilliant example of Hindu religious bas-reliefs, Sewu, with its four pairs
of Dwarapala giant statues, is Indonesia’s largest Buddhist complex. The Hindu temples are decorated
with reliefs illustrating the Indonesian version of the Ramayana epic which are masterpieces of stone
carvings. These are surrounded by hundreds of shrines that have been arranged in three parts showing
high levels of stone building technology and architecture from the 8th century AD in Java. With over 500
temples, Prambanan Temple Compounds represents not only an architectural and cultural treasure, but
also a standing proof of past religious peaceful cohabitation.

Facebook, the world's most popular social network, in February 2004. He was born on May 14, 1984, in
White Plains, New York, the second of four children born to dentist Edward Zuckerberg and his wife,
psychiatrist Karen Zuckerberg.
Mark Zuckerberg attended Harvard University, where he studied psychology and computer science. In
his sophomore year, he wrote a program he called Course Match, which allowed users to make class
selection decisions based on the choices of other students and also to help them form study groups. He
also invented Facemash, a program with the stated purpose of finding out who was the most attractive
person on campus. Users would look at two pictures of people of the same sex and pick which was the
"hottest," and the software compiled and ranked the results. It was an astounding success, but it bogged
down the network at Harvard, people's pictures were being used without their permission, and it was
offensive to people, particularly women's groups, on campus. Zuckerberg ended the project and
apologized to the women's groups, saying he thought of it as a computer experiment. Harvard put him on
probation.

Dear Martin:
Re: Parking Garage Problem
Please regard this as a letter of apology for the recent problems that I caused you by moving your
belongings in the parking garage without your permission.
Believe me, I had no intention of causing you any problems. Over the long weekend I decided to
rearrange my space in the garage and install some new shelving on the front wall opposite my parking
space. While I was atit I thought I would also tidy up the entire garage. It was during that process that I
noticed that your boxes of books were stored, what I thought was, dangerously close to the electric
heating element. So, I took the liberty of moving those boxes to the other side of the garage. It didn't
occur to me at the time that this would block the entry and exit on the passenger side of your vehicle.
After you brought this to my attention Monday evening I immediately moved your boxes back to where
they were stored originally. As you suggested, by stacking them carefully I was able to place them so
that there was sufficient safe clearance from the heating element. I trust you will find everything in order
now.
I'm really sorry that I didn't check with you first before moving your belongings. I can now see how it
would have upset you to return after the holiday weekend and find your belongings moved for no
apparent reason. All I can say is that it won't happen again.
Sincerely,
Jeff Gibson

In Australia there are three levels of governments, the federal government, state governments and
local governments. All of these levels of government are necessary. This is so for number of reasons.
First, the federal government is necessary for the big things. They keep the economy in order and look
after like defense. Similarly, the state governments look after the middle sized things. For example they
look after law and order, preventing things like vandalism in school. Finally, local government look after
the small thins. They look after things like collecting rubbish, otherwise everyone would have disease.
Thus for the reason above, we can conclude that the three levels of the government are necessary.

Mobile phones
Mobile phones have taken over our modern world. It seems almost every person in every major city has
one. This essay will focus on the advantages of them. Not only globally, cell phones are important in
day-to-day life.” Besides the ease of communication, expressing oneself creatively has also never been
so straightforward.
Besides an ease of expression, the entertainment aspect of mobile phones is substantial. These include
video and audio players. Basically, the mobile phone has become a miniature laptop computer in terms
of its entertainment capabilities.
Mobile phones are not only fantastic for increasing communication, creativity, and entertainment
opportunities, but also for keeping us safe. The more applications you have, the greater chance you are
safe. The key is to have these apps handy in case a difficult situation arises, instead of filing them away
on your phone.
Finally, mobile phones have a huge advantage over non-smartphones: the opportunity to use the
internet. The internet allows you to search for information so quickly. People are often slower at recalling
and coming up with the information you need. With its help, we can be as smart and informed as we
want to be at any given moment.
As it has been shown, mobile phones give us the benefit of communicating easily, engaging in creative
work through simple applications, being able to be entertained, to be safer, and to access the internet
with the press of button. Who knows what more advantages the mobile phone will garner in the near
future.

The Legend of Lake Telaga Biru, North Halmahera
In ancient time, there was a hamlet called Lisawa in Galela Region, North Halmahera, North Maluku,
Indonesia. The hamlet was quiet and being inhabited by only few families.
One day, there lived a young man, named Magohiduuru and a beatiful lady, Majojaru. They loved each
other. Magohiduuru wanted to propose Majojaru, but he realized that it was difficult to feed himself. He
decided to go aboard. He would come back once he could earn a proper living and marry Majojaru. He
went on a ship that was sailing overseas.
One year on, Magohiduuru had not come back. When Majojaru was walking near the fort, she saw a
ship docking. Wishfully, she took her heart to ask one of the ship crews about Magohiduuru. The man
then told a story of what happened a month ago, when Magohiduuru was killed during work.
Dejectedly, Majojaru staggered to her house. She spent some time on her own to calm down. She took a
seat upon a stone under a bayan tree, lamenting over the death of her lover. She cried her beat out for
three days and three nights. Her tears flowed like water running out of a collapsed dam. Finally, her tears
swamped the place that she drowned herself to death. Not long after that, a small lake was formed its
water was pure like tears and bluish.
The lake is now called Telaga Biru. Looking at its water, people will remember the purity of Mojajoru’s
love for Magohiduuru.

Reality TV and Its Impact on Teenagers
It is probably impossible to find a person living in a developed country that would not have heard about
reality shows. It creates extremely appealing, sometimes even addictive content. This would be fine if its
audience consisted entirely of adults. At the same time, a large percentage of viewers are teenagers or
even children–and in this case, the worldwide popularity of reality shows may be not so harmless.
Rather often, even adult viewers rarely contemplate the possibility that the people they watch are actors,
that they follow a script, and that the plot and dynamics of the show often reflects the demands and
expectations of the target audience. In particular, reality television often shows excessive amounts of
aggression.
In the case of some reality shows, children and teenagers can be not only viewers, but also participants.
This is mostly true for all kinds of talent shows focusing on children’s extraordinary talents or abilities.
Although it can be considered relatively harmless and many parents enjoy watching such shows together
with their kids, there may be negative psychological effects here as well.
Overall, it can be said that reality shows are not affecting teenagers and children positively. Whereas
adults with shaped outlooks and behavioural patterns often view such shows as entertainment and do
not seem to be affected by them significantly, teenagers may adopt inappropriate behavioural patterns
seen on television. Therefore, it is advisable that teenagers watch reality shows under their parents’
control, or do not watch them at all.

Tips for Finding the Right Shoes
When shopping for shoes, you want to have more than fashion in mind — you'll also want to consider
function and keeping your feet in good shape. These tips can help you choose the right shoes:
1. Take a tracing of your foot with you. Place any shoe you think you might buy on top of the tracing. If
the shoe is narrower or shorter than the tracing, don't even try it on.
2. Shop for shoes during the afternoon — your foot naturally expands with use during the day.
3. Wear the same type of socks to the store that you intend to wear with the shoes.
4. Have a salesperson measure both of your feet — and get measured every time you buy new shoes.
Feet change with age, often growing larger and wider. If one foot is larger than the other, buy a size
that fits the larger foot.
5. Stand in the shoes. Press gently on the top of the shoe to make sure you have about a half-inch of
space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. This provides enough room for your foot to
press forward as you walk. Wiggle your toes to make sure there's enough room.

32. World War I, also called First World War or Great War, an international conflict that in 1914–18
embroiled most of the nations of Europe along with Russia, the United States, the Middle East, and other
regions. The war pitted the Central Powers—mainly Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey—against
the Allies—mainly France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, and, from 1917, the United States. It
ended with the defeat of the Central Powers. The war was virtually unprecedented in the slaughter,
carnage, and destruction it caused.
World War I was one of the great watersheds of 20th-century geopolitical history. It led to the fall of four
great imperial dynasties (in Germany, Russia, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey), resulted in the Bolshevik
Revolution in Russia, and, in its destabilization of European society, laid the groundwork for World War
II.

The Spectacles
It was a beautiful spring day. The sun was shining warmly, the flowers were blooming and butterflies
were flying. God Jupiter was sitting on a cloud. He was enjoying the view from above. He thought, ‘How
pretty the Earth looks! Indeed, the sight makes me happy. I must gift the Humans something!’
Thus, Jupiter ordered Momus to deliver his special gifts to the Humans. On Earth, Momus called all
Humans and said, “0 Humans! All of you were created differently. Your vision is also different. Some of
you can see perfectly, while others have weak eyes. Therefore, great Jupiter has sent presents for you.”
Then, Momus opened the sack. It contained hundreds of pairs of Spectacles. There was one pair for
each Human. They were very happy. However, every pair of Spectacles was differently colored. There
were blue, white, yellow and purple pairs. Yet, every Human was very happy with his pair. Each thought
that he owned the best pair. All Humans praised Jupiter. Today, these Spectacles are known as
Opinions. Every Human has a different Opinion. Each one thinks that his Opinion is the best among all
the others!

43. Nagara Rimba Nusa’ announced as winner of new capital city design contest
(https://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2019/12/23/nagara-rimba-nusa-announced-as-winner-of-new-
capital-city-design-contest.html)
The Public Works and Housing Ministry has announced the “Nagara Rimba Nusa” design as the winner
of the design contest for the country’s new capital city in East Kalimantan
The design, created by architecture and urban design studio URBAN+, beat 755 other contestants to win
a prize of Rp 2 billion (US$142,963).
“Their design will be developed into a capital planning design document according to the framework that
has been expressed by President Jokowi,” the ministry’s Cipta Karya director general Danis Sumadilaga,
who is also the head of the contest committee, said on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.
The ministry also announced four other runners-up: “The Infinite City”, “A Thousand Furrows”, “The
Emerald of the Equator” and “The Village of the People of the Archipelago.”
The winning design, which roughly translates to “forest and island hilltop”, was inspired by the
Indonesian archipelago and includes such features as the Indonesia Raya (Great Indonesia) presidential
palace and the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) plaza. Sibarani Sofyan, the founder of
URBAN+, said he had enlisted the help of many partners, including those from outside Indonesia, to
create the design.
“Of course I could not make it myself. I have friends from Hong Kong, Singapore and other places and
we worked on this together,” Sibarani said as quoted by tribunnews.com. “The inspiration came from any
different places but we also used the elements of [state ideology] Pancasila that are related to the design
of the capital.”
Despite winning the contest, the "Nagari Rimba Nusa" design would not be used as the sole basis for the
new capital city, with Danis saying that the government would collaborate with the top three contestants
as well as international designers. "We will sharpen the [design] process up to March or April," he said.
Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the top three designs for the new capital
had ulfilled three criteria for the city: it had to be a symbol of Indonesia’s advanced civilization, it had to
be environmentally friendly and it had to be designed with future generations in mind.
“In January 2020, we will bring the top three winners to survey the new capital location so that they can
get a sense of place starting from the center of the central government area,” Basuki said as quoted by
Antara news agency. (kmt)
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will name one of the rooms in its Anti-Corruption
Learning Center after two protesters who died during the nationwide student rallies over a several
controversial bills, including a revision to the KPK Law, in late September.
The students, identified as La Randi and Muhammad Yusuf Fardawi, were students of Halu Oleo
University who died after taking part in a student protest in front of the Southeast Sulawesi Legislative
Council (DPRD) in Kendari.
"We will preserve their names in the Anti-Corruption Learning Center building. [...] It's our way to keep
our mind on cleaning Indonesia [of corruption].” KPK deputy chief Saut Situmorang said after a meeting
with the families of the two deceased students on Thursday.
Saut added that the deaths of Randi and Yusuf served as inspiration for corruption eradication efforts in
Indonesia.
"Hopefully this can serve as inspiration for the youth, to remind them that their struggle is not in vain,
since they are fighting for more efficient corruption eradication," Saut said.
Human rights group Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) coordinator Yati
Andriyani expressed appreciation for the gesture.
"Of course, we can do more, but we appreciate it as a reminder to keep up our morale as well as
continue our effort to fight against corruption in this country," Yati, who also served as an advocate for
Randi and Yusuf's families, said as quoted by kompas.com.
On Sept. 27, the forensic team at Kendari General Hospital said Randi had died after succumbing to a
bullet wound in his chest. Kontras suspects that Yusuf also died after being shot in front of the Southeast
Sulawesi Labor and Transmigrant Office on Sept. 26.
The two deceased students were among tens of thousands of university students who took to the streets
in cities across Indonesia in late September to protest a number of controversial bills and what has been
seen as an attempt to restore authoritarian rule. (dpk)

Dear Mr. Smith, I was so excited when my former coworker, 1. Jay Lopez, told me about your opening for an
administrative assistant in your Portland offices. long-time Veggies to Go customer and an experienced admin,
I would love to help the company achieve its mission of making healthy produce as available as takeout.
I've worked for small companies for my entire career, and I relish the opportunity to wear many hats and work
with the team to succeed. In my latest role as an administrative assistant at Beauty Corp, I saved my employer
thousand dollars in temp workers by implementing a self- scheduling system for the customer service reps that
cut down on canceled shifts. I also learned web design, time sheet coding, and perfected my Excel skills.
I've attached my resume for your consideration and hope to speak with you soon about your needs for the
role.
Best Regards,
Elizabeth Johnson.
The Japanese Cabinet approved Friday the lifting of sanctions on Iran, following the recent completion of a
landmark deal to try to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Advance's Jane Brown reports.
The widely expected move will allow Japanese companies to pursue investment in Iran's oil and gas industry.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told reporters that the government would cancel bans on Japanese
investment in both exports to Iran and in oil and gas-related business.
Yoshihide Suga: "We will continue to support the consistent implementation of the final agreement on the
Iranian nuclear issue as we see it as a way to enforce nuclear non- proliferation and contribute to stability in
the Middle East."
The UN certified last weekend that Iran had met all of its commitments under the nuclear deal, leading to the
lifting of long-standing Western economic sanctions on the country.
Istiqlal Grand Mosque in central Jakarta has prepared special toilet for King Salman Abdul Aziz Al
Saud.
The toilet which was built during former president Soeharto's administration for the country's special
guests is located inside the mosque's VIP room, said Istiqlal's spokesman Syaiful Haq.
He further said that inside the bathroom, the official had set a 12 centimeters closet, which is higher
than any usual closets. On the sides of the closet, there are handgrips that will help King Salman to sit
and stand. Aside from that, the bathroom is also equipped with a thick rug Which is placed near the
door to avoid getting slippery called AI Malik.
"Al Malik means kingdom. Hence, [the toilet] is meant for a king or the country's special guests," Syaiful
said on Wednesday.
King Salman is scheduled to perform sunah prayer called Tahiyyatul Masjid. However, it is still unclear
when the King will visit the mosque. He and Saudi's contingent will be in Jakarta from March 1st to 4th
before flying to Bali. (The Jakarta Post Jakarta | Wed, March 1, 2017|| 12:59 pm).
