INSTALLATION GUIDE
Components
Make sure you have the following components before starting this installation procedure.
NOTE:
Harris does not provide
grounding kits. Voltmeter
T1 or E1 test set
Set of screwdrivers
Set of wrenches
Reference Manual and Software
are supplied with the radio.
CAUTION!
To prevent equipment damage and shock hazard due to lightning, you must ensure that antenna
installation and the grounding systems comply with NEC or IEC standards, as well as any
additional local requirements.
CAUTION!
RF output power is set by Harris or authorized distributor. Do not change antennas, cable length
or type. To do so may violate the regulatory rules.
* optional
NOTE:
When assembling the standard 23.5 dBi antenna, for proper alignment and maximum strength, be sure
that the distance from the feed horn (dipole) to the base of the antenna grid measures approximately 16
inches.

STEP 6 Check the receiver’s RSSI voltage level at each end of the hop.
The voltage level must be between
1.4 and 4.5 volts. A voltage level
closer to 4 volts indicates a more
robust system.
