Marques Brownlee, 'the best technology reviewer on the planet'

Tanver Rupos
It was 2014, I am a tech junky and used to watch Youtube videos to feed my
curiosity concerning the latest releases that excite the tech industry and become
talk of the town. It was OnePlus One which had earned the title as the new king of
mid-range smartphones then. I watched a few videos about the phone and a
video I liked very much and all the videos on the channel were good.
The name of the channel is Marques Brownlee known as MKBHD.  He has been
my favorite Youtuber since 2014. He first started uploading technology videos in
January 2009, when he was in high school. Then he used to make video about
new products or review of products he already owned. Brownlee has produced
nearly 1,100 YouTube videos over the last decade, including tutorials, reviews,
interviews, impressions, and explainers, all built with the singular purpose of
helping anyone and everyone navigate the constantly-evolving world of consumer
technology.

First several hundred videos of his were primarily hardware and basic software
tutorials. He wasn’t the first reviewer the latest gadgets on YouTube, but he has
found success by examining each product for the everyday consumer, and give
unjaundiced opinion. Even former Google VP Vic Gundotra called him "the best
technology reviewer on the planet right now."

As of April 2020, his channel has gained over 11 million subscribers, 1.7 billion
total video views, making MKBHD one of the most subscribed to technology
focused YouTube channels, even winning creator of the decade at the 10th
annual Shorty Awards in 2018.
He's talked with some of the biggest names in tech like Tesla founder Elon Musk
and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. He started with interviewing Apple's senior
vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi during the release of their
latest MacBook Pro 2016. He interviewed Neil deGrasse Tyson, Microsoft CEO
Satya Nadella, actor Will Smith.
In 2019 Vox Media Studios and YouTube Originals present Retro Tech, a six-
episode documentary series hosted by Marques Brownlee. The series follows
how iconic technology of the past came to life and shaped history. In each
episode, Marques meets with fellow YouTube creators, experts, and celebrity
guests, to explore the impact each piece of vintage tech has had on our culture
and why these pieces remain so revolutionary. He has some great playlists for the
viewers specially Dope tech, Retro tech, Super Car review, Studio tour of famous
Youtuber and so more.
Brownlee started posting reviews at 15 and now he has one of the biggest
consumer tech audiences on the site. Brownlee is especially noted for regularly
responding to his viewers answering their questions and discussing their
suggestions. He has the best production value for his videos. Constant quality
improvement, produces viral content, increases news coverage, effectively
broadcasts videos on other platforms, crazy work discipline are the main reasons
of his marvelous ‍success.
