Dear editor,

I am pleased to submit an original research article entitled “Relationship between nasal obstruction and
middle ear infection” by Karina Julita, Al Hafiz, Fenty Anggrainy, and Ricvan Dana Nindrea for
consideration for publication in Otorhinolaryngology. We previously uncovered the relationship between
the variables with some factors considered.

In this manuscript, we show that there was no significant relationship between those two variables for being
considered into a decision making whether or not doing the intervention for nasal obstruction before the
middle ear infection intervention. That result was also assessed for allergy roles.

We believe that this manuscript is appropriate for publication by Otorhinolaryngology because it gives us
some view about the step of intervention that still being unclear for the clinicians on middle ear infection
and creates a paradigm for future studies about it.
This manuscript has not been published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. We have
no conflicts of interest to disclose.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Karina Julita, MD
