Topic 6: Today, many parents tend to hire tutors to teach their children at
home for better study results. In your opinion, what are the advantages and
disadvantages of learning with a tutor.

Today, many parents tend to hire tutors to teach their children at home for better
study results. In my opinion, learning with a tutor has both advantages and
disadvantages.
In the first place, when you’re learning with a tutor, if you don’t understand the
lessons, you can ask again easily because the tutor at home will only focus on
teaching a student. Moreover, at school, you may not always feel comfortable
asking questions in front of your friends. Tutoring will help teach you to be
comfortable asking questions, without feeling self-conscious. In the second
place, the tutors won’t have to follow the lesson plans like the teachers at
school. As a result, they can stop the lessons anytime to explain you until you
understand everything clearly. In the third place, you can arrange your study
time whenever you want, so you will be able to spend more time on your own
activities and have more time to relax. Especially, studying at home gives you a
sense of comfort. You will get the lessons better than studying stressful lessons
at school.
However, everything has 2 sides. Learning with a tutor isn’t an exception.
To begin with, if a tutor helps children to do all their homework, they will rely
on their tutors. Children will become lazier and lazier. Also, their results will be
worse and worse. It is very disappointing when you paid for services and did
not get almost anything back. Another drawback of learning with a tutor is that
it is a waste of money. Studying with tutors costs much more than studying at
school. Lastly, it won’t create opportunities for learners to rival each other.
Students don’t have classmates, so there isn’t a lack of comparisons which is
beneficial in studying.
To sum up, learning with a tutor has both advantages and disadvantages. I think
most of your study results depend on your learning attitude. A tutor can just
help to explain your troubles. The most important thing is that you should know
what way will be suitable for you to learn.

Topic 7: What do you think of the benefits of self-study
From my point of view, one of the best keys for student to have a good
education is self-study. It is undeniable that self-study can bring us many
benifits that other ways can’t give us.
First of all, by studying on our own ,we will become more independent. We
will be able to educate ourselves, not depend on teachers, tutors or our parents.
Owing to self-study, we can get a great amount of knowledge that perhaps our
study at school doesn’t bring us. Moreover, it helps us to be more creative,
discovers our talent and also our great fields so that we will feel more
confident about ourselves.
Secondly, self-study gives us chances to set our own difficult level. Let’s me
show you an example: Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887 – 1920), one of India’s
greatest mathematicians, was a famous example of self-study. Having
demonstrated an extraordinary ability with mathematics from an early age, he
quickly exhausted the knowledge of his teachers. Out of necessity, he set out
on his own mathematical odyssey, working through advanced textbooks alone.
During his life, he produced a staggering volume of work and made significant
contributions to number theory, continued fractions and infinite series, among
other areas. For anyone gifted with a highly unusual ability in a given subject –
be it mathematics, music, art or anything else – self-teaching is sometimes the
only option. Through the example, you can see that self-study helps us to study
with our true levels. Therefore, we can absorb knowledge more easily.
Lastly, self-study saves a lot of money. The lower amount of money our parents
have to spend on our education, the less worry they have. Futhermore, we don’t
need to go to extra class after school time. That not only helps us  to reduce the
time we travel but also helps us to have more time for others activities.
To say in a word, self-study brings us many effective things and I strongly
believe that self-study is the greatest key to success.
