ANSWER
In reality, a great number of parents have clearly opined that only
excelling in academics will not prepare their children for the future, but
together with having life skills will result in better preparations. From
my perspective, I am completely in favor of this expression of view for
some reasons.
To begin with, people universally regard the statement that life skills
lead to the development of self-confidence as true. To be more precise,
supposing that students are able to fluently make use of problem-solving
abilities, they will feel free to express inherent capabilities and creativity
without being terrified of making any mistakes. Also, they can easily
communicate with others instead of being shy whenever they stand in
front of a lot of people.
Second, practical skills help children to know how to behave in
each situation in their lives. For instance, with these skills, they will
know how to do when they get lost, whenever they are in trouble or in
danger, or how to protect themselves if they meet strange people.
Whereas it is widely claimed that academic knowledge can be received
only when they have enough thinking about life. By learning life skills,
the young will be more independent. Also, other people often consider
one’s manner to judge someone.
Finally, to be honest, children with good practical skills will be
easier to have a better job in the future. Since nowadays, employers
require not only knowledge but also necessary skills of an applicant.
Thus, teaching life skills at school will also be a good way to make
students’ future better. Additionally, when learning new things, new
skills, children can find out their special abilities, for instance.
All in all, the study of both academic subjects and living skills at the
same time is of the utmost importance for the young. Therefore, I think
it will be very helpful to pupils if they are educated life skills at school,
together with academic subjects.
