Kintamani is the most favourite tourist destination in Bali. It has the active
volcano of Mount Batur and beautiful Lake Batur. Lake Batur is the biggest lake in
Bali and function as irrigation source for all famers around it.
Kintamani is surrounded by the captivating nature and there are six ancient
villages around the cauldron of Batur Lake which is often conceived by Bali Age
Village. The local people from these Bali Age villages own the unique cultures,
houses and life style. Kintamani area is consisted of villages such as Kedisan,
buahan, abang, Trunyan, Songan, South Batur, Middle Batur, Noth Batur, Sukawana
and Kintamani village. The total of residents in these area are about fifteen thousands
who are mostly farmers, merchants or industrial tourism workers.
Kintamani is located in Kintamani sub district, Bangli Regency and about 50
km from Denpasar or about 2 hours by car. All roads are generally in good condition
to access to this place. The fog will descend and blanket the entire area of Kintamani
with cold temperature in particular at late afternoon until the whole night. The most
amazing panorama at kintamani can be seen when the sunrise emerges on the
surface of the earth precisely on Mount Batur.

Gedung Sate

Gedung Sate with its characteristic ornament that looks like a sate stick has been a
landmark building for the city of Bandung for a long time. Not only for residents of
Bandung or West Java, but also people all over Indonesia, recognize the style of the
building which has become an example for several other building in West Java. It was
constructed in the 1920’s. Today, the still white government building is used as the centre
of power for the province of West Java.
The architecture of Gedung Sate is a work of Ir. J. Gerber and his group who had in
mind to make a design that closely resembled the works of famous Dutch architect Dr.
Hendrik Petrus, who used many traditional features from all over Indonesia in his designs.
Many architects and structural designers say that Gedung Sate is a monumental building
that expresses a unique architectural design, which is known as Indo-European
architecture.
Gedung Sate has now become one of the tourist attractions in the city of Bandung.
Many visitors from abroad visit Bandung because of their historic relation with this building
and the city as well. The historic feeling of this building can best be absorbed by climbing
the wooden stairs towards the tower of the building. There are six stairs which have to be
ascended before you reach the top.
The beauty of Gedung Sate is completed by the decorative and lush gardens that
surround the building and are well cared for. Because of its beauty, the gardens are
regularly used for shooting family pictures, music clips for local or national artists or pre
wedding pictures.
