Using the Centers
The 12 centers in this book provide hands-on practice to help students master standards-
based language skills. It is important to teach each skill and to model the use of each center
before asking students to do the tasks independently. The centers are self-contained and
portable. Students can work at a desk, at a table, or on a rug, and they can use the centers
as often as needed.
