The central idea of the passage excepted from Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech

by Malala Yousafzai is fighting for women’s and children’s equal rights and education which are

discriminated by society. The message we learn from this central idea is Malala is fighting for

women’s and children’s equal rights and education because in the society people thought women

can not do anything. They always have to stay at home and take care of their children and their

family. They don’t deserve any respect, any education. Also, children are one of the best sources

to earn money to avoid poverty. The example of the central idea can be found on line 42. The

author states, “Many children in countries like Pakistan and india are deprived of their right to

education but they been forced into child marriage or into child labor.” It demonstrates that

children have no right for themselves, they are controlled by their family and society. This quote

supports the central idea because children are forced by society's rules. They can not speak out

loud what they exactly want that’s why they have to do it for their family. They are discriminated

by society. They have no right to speak against their families. Additionally, the central idea once

again describe on line 44, when the author states, “One of my very good school friends, the same

age as me, who had always been a confident girl, dreamed of becoming a doctor. At the age of

12, she was forced to get married. And then soon she had a son, she had a child when she herself

was still a child only 14.” It illustrates that womens are forced to get married early without

saying a word. They can not say no whatever their family's decisions. They have to do what their

families tell them. The quote supports the central idea because womens feel hesitant to take over

their rights. That’s the reason they are discriminated in every single right they need by society
and family. These examples develop the central idea of fighting for women’s and children’s

equal rights and education which are discriminated by society because it shows that childrens

and womens they both deserve all rights that they exactly need.

The author uses the writing strategy conflict to develop the central idea of fighting for

women’s and children’s equal rights and education. This can be said because in society they

don’t want womens get equal rights. They always want to control women’s lives, they think

womens have to do what they want to tell them. Womens and childrens can not get their proper

rights and education because of societal expectations. The example of the writing strategy which

the author successfully uses to develop the central idea of the speech can be found on line 37.

The author states, “There are many countries where millions still suffer from war, poverty and

injustice.” This indicates that people can’t live happily and peacefully because of war issues and

can not get a better life because of poverty. The above example of the writing strategy to

develop the central idea because people are facing wars that’s the reason they are moving their

houses to save themselves. Then they faced poverty issues. That's the reason people are forcing

their childrens to work for their families to earn money and take care of families. Without money

education is impossible for both childrens and womens. Another example of the writing strategy

can be found on line 41. The author states, “Many children in Africa do not have access to

education because of poverty.” It demonstrates that some countries have some financial problems

that are the reason they can not effort their children to educate. The examples of the writing

strategy to develop the central idea of fighting for women’s and children’s equal rights and

education because poverty and inequality are one of the biggest problems that womens and
childrens can not get their proper rights and education. Without the writing strategy of conflict

readers would not know that womens and childrens should have to fight for their human rights

and education, that they deserve it.
