Letter to shareholders
Dear shareholders,
I would like to thank you for your support for our company, CAWY. Our company is
conducted as a M-business project for skills for leadership and management class. We have
provided our customers with a crossbody bag, including alcohol spray, soap spray, and mask,
which this set will be useful during the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, there were 2 designs
of the product, orange limited edition and white minimal edition, for the customers to choose
for the one they prefer.
We have raised the total profit of 15,068 Baht by selling 226 bags, reflecting the
potential of our company to raise 43.05% return on investment to all our precious
stockholders. As we continue our company, we have planned to expand our product lines to
be trendy and customizable.

Company Overview
About us

CAWY is the company established in 2021 by Mahidol University International


Demonstration School students, which is the part of a project for skills for leadership and
management. We have come up with the willingness to produce a product based on
customers’ satisfaction. Moreover, the name CAWY comes from “carry around with you” as
we want our product to be portable and easy to use. Furthermore, our first product launched is
the CAWY crossbody bag, which we have 2 versions of the bag including minimal and
limited versions.

Financial and performance summary

According to the finance department, we have raised the capital of 35,000 and got the
total profit of 13,082 Baht from selling 196 minimal bags and 30 limited editions. Therefore,
the return on investment is 43.05% with stockholders receiving 37 Baht as dividend.

Department overview
Department of Marketing

Our department goals are to build brand awareness as much as we can. To be more
simple, our roles are mainly about advertising our products. We try to let others know about
our products. We come up with the ways to efficiently promote our products such as creating
a video presenting out products, creating a selling poster and setting a selling booth.

Department of Production

The main responsibility of the production department is the design, material, quality
and distribution of the product. Processes of production are carefully planned out to be able to
correspond with customer’s satisfaction also as the company missions.

Department of Human Resources


The major role for Human Resource is obviously relating to “human.” Basically, we
are responsible for managing the employee life cycle (ex. recruiting, hiring, onboarding,
training, administering employee and stockholder benefits.) We have already reached 350
stockholders and are done with sending stock certificates through emails and LINE
application. We also have to assign work to employees, check attendance, and take care of
customers.

Department of Finance

The responsibility of the Finance Department is that we need to gather all of the
financial information in the company. We had to record our sales of the pre-order lists to
check that the company reached the break-even point. Moreover, we also calculated the
company's cost production, profit, ROI, and dividend. We will be the team that distributes the
wages to employees and the dividend to the stockholders.

Department of Public Relation

Our department’s responsibility is mainly to promote our product through social


media and receive orders. We also filled out the charter and bylaws form in order for our
company to be approved from the board of directors. We contact school’s staff, students, and
parents to help spread the word about our products and find more customers.

Product Overview
According to a survey conducted by our company, we asked our customers what are
the things that they will be most interested in during this time of the pandemic. And the final
numbers show that most of the customers would like to have something that helps them cope
with the COVID-19 situation. Our company’s vision is “to be customized based on your
satisfaction.” Therefore, we combine our vision with customers’ satisfaction, and the solution
is a crossbody bag that contains a survival kit, a mask, soap, and alcohol. Basically, our

product is a small bag that has refillable alcohol and soap that would be carried around with
you, and importantly a mask and a place to keep that would secure the customers in this
pandemic situation.

Function:

This set of pandemic tools and gadgets provides all the basic necessary products that
the customers need to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers are able to gain easy
access to all cleaning products and masks anywhere at any time. Moreover, the small bag
design can help customers to store small belongings that they want to gain easy access too,
which means that after the COVID-19 pandemic is over, customers can still be able to use the
bag and bottle sprays for other purposes.

Uniqueness:

Compared with our competitors in the market, CAWY offers an all-in-one pandemic
set that is unique and creative. Compared to other products, our bags are customized with
pouches that can help hold the spray bottles while the small bag design makes it easy for you
to store, wash and carry. The detachable hooks on the bag can help customers to put the bag
in another bag for storing and carrying.

Sales and Promotion

Our sales and promotion aim to grab the attention of as many customers as possible
and fulfill their demand along with protecting them from Covid-19. We aim to sell each and
all 250 products through social media, Mahidol university staff, students, and parents. We
promote the bags mainly through Instagram since the team discovered that it is the most
common platform among students. Cawy offers a 5% discount for the customer's next
purchase if they tag us on Instagram as one of our marketing strategies. Our alcohol and soap
sprays are refillable so we offer free alcohol for those purchasing over 400 baht and a 15%
discount for buying 3 bags. Any stockholders of our company will receive up to 10%
discount on the purchase.

Financial Statement
According to our expectations, we would like to reach the break-even point, which we
did, so overall, our company gains profit from this project. The product that our company
planned to sell is a cross-body bag; the company has 2 editions of the bag: the minimal and
the limited one. The company starts with 35,000฿, which came from the stockholder who has
invested in our company. The number of the products sold increased exponentially and
reached the capital in approximately 1 month. To conclude, our company received total profit
of 21,418฿, which is about two-thirds of the capital. Although our capital is 35,000฿, we
manage to spend only 33,014฿ as the cost of production. Moreover, we will need to
distributed the money to our employees, which will lead to the net profit of 15,068฿. The
return on investment calculated is 43.05%, while the dividend paid will be 37 Baht per stock.

Management Discussion
Marketing Strategy

During COVID-19 outbreak, people


should wear face masks, wash their hands, and
keep social distance. Nowadays, when we are
outside, we will see everybody with a face
mask. We came up with an idea to help people
during this outbreak. We will sell a bag that can
keep masks and alcohol gel or even soap. Not
only the function of the bag is useful during this
situation but also the minimal design of the bag
that will suit anyone using it. With our bag,
people will be more safe and fashionable. The
marketing department is responsible for
promoting and developing our product by the
minimal and unique slogan as a core. Creating
video, poster, and storyboard to represent our
product and to increase the sales.
Our company focuses on studying and
working age groups as people who use our
product usually go out. Thus, we decide to focus
on students and workers whose ages are around
13-50. Moreover, we do not see any company
doing like us which is having all the protection
kits in 1 bag based on the research. “Carry
around with you” is our slogan. The product is
convenient to carry with. In one bag, we offer a mask, soap, and alcohol spray which suit for
this COVID-19 situation. However, the bag can put other stuff in it too, not only the two
bottles and a mask.
We also provide the customers with the promotions too. Starting with the stockholder,
they will automatically get a 10% discount. Secondly, the customers who buy over 400 Baht
will get a free alcohol refill and buying 3 pieces of our product will get a 15% discount.

Moreover, if the user promotes our product and tags us on instagram, we will provide them a
5% discount for the next time.
We distribute our products to different channels. The main channels that we use are
LINE application and pre-order channels. We also set-up our store in the MUIDS cafeteria
during lunch time and in front of the school after period 7 by the sales representatives. They
promoted the product and demonstrated how to use it wisely. The result was great, we sold all
of the products that we made.

Management
Our company is separated into five departments; Production, Public Relations,
Marketing, Finance, and Human resources. Each department has a clear role to do. We all

have the same goal which is to satisfy our customers. We do our best to serve our customers
the best quality products and services. The reason why we treat them like this is because we
respect them. Not only customers that we respect but also our members that we respect.
When we work, we always respect each other’s voices. We always ask for everyone’s opinion
to decide on one thing.

Corporate Responsibility
Raising Awareness in COVID 19

Right now, COVID-19 has an impact on the different things happening in this world.
The pandemic that is currently happening is one of the factors that motivated us to design and
introduce the product known as the Cawy bag which comes with a washable mask and
refillable alcohol and soap. We designed our product this way to help promote self-awareness
of the pandemic which is happening right now. Many people think that our product doesn’t
help promote self-awareness on the pandemic. What they are saying is not wrong; however, it
is just that our company decided not to rush on our goal and take everything nice and steady.
To be able to make the world more aware of these things is not possible of a small company
of students such as us. To do this, we must take things slow and start from the things that are
close to use first, such as MUIDS and its students, staff, and parents. Thus, our company
came up with CAWY bag.

Environmental Care

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in healthcare waste all over the
world. One of the causes for significantly increase in waste is the increased use of plastic
containers for alcohol and disposable masks. In Bangkok, it is estimated that healthcare waste
generation increased to 160 metric tons per day, compared to 26 metric tons before. Our team
acknowledged the problems and decided to produce products that help lessen this issue. We
enclose the alcohol and liquid soap within refillable containers by way of reducing plastic
wastes. The customers can refill the same products back, while they can also use other
products, such as perfume. Another thing is the fabric mask that is washable and can be
recycled several times. Hence, our startups provide an innovative solution that suits the
new-normal lifestyle and also helps diminish the creation of pollution due to the
environmental concerns.

Operation and Management
CAWY company consists only of grade
12 students from MUIDS. We have to do several
things in this project. Majority of this project
has 4 phases. At the beginning, we have to find
stockholders who want to invest in our
company. Totally, we ought to gain 35000 baht,
350 stocks of 100 Baht each. We planned to get
it in 1 week but luckily, we got it in only 5 days.
Furthermore, when we got all of the stocks, we
needed to find manufacturing for producing our
bags, masks, bag straps, stickers for attaching
alcohol sprays and soaps. Fortunately, our
employees have a factory which manufactures
all of the things which we need thus we
discussed it very easily and earlier than usual.
When we got all of the materials, we began to
separate works to each department. The first
group has to combine materials in the bag. The
second group has to decorate postal bags for
putting the bag in. The last group has to deliver
to the customers. Finally, we continued to sell it
until it ran out of our stocks and hoped for
gaining great profit.

Future Plan
According to the customer feedback, we have noticed numerous troubles with
the quality of the material. We are suggested to have a stronger material for clip bags
and we also found some issues with spray alcohol bottles. To prevent further mistakes we will
need to improve on quality control. For future potential products, we have an idea to change
the material of the bag into a more eco-friendly material and also add more choices for
customers to choose such as the colour of the bag and the rope. We will adjust our future
potential product based on the trend in the future.
