Are some types of knowledge less open to interpretation than others?

The object that I have chosen is a bottle of water. I chose this object because it is
one that I use daily and the possible interpretations of the use and visual aspects of the
bottle is a value to me. The object’s relation to the question above is that like this water
bottle objects are complex and, especially personal objects, selective in the possible
interpretations of the knowledge they provide. There are many knowledge claims that relate
to this water bottle which some are less contestable than others. Such as observable
knowledge; there is water in this water bottle, which is something that can be proven as true
with some sort of experiment which can, in turn, diminish the possibility of opposing or
different interpretations. That also comes in to question the value of this knowledge and the
interpretation because for me as an athletic person when I am on a run that knowledge that
there is water in this bottle is very valuable because it is seen as a necessity for me so that
lack of different possible interpretations is in benefit to me.

Although, the water inside the water bottle may be less open to interpretation that
does not mean other aspects of the water bottle that are more contestable. An example of a
more open interpretation would be the colour of the stickers on the bottle. My brother is
colourblind and green and brown are colours that he sees as the same and I have been in
arguments with him whether the flower on the bottle is red and brown or red and green. My
interpretation of the sticker colours is red and green which is not the same as my brother but
because of the variation of sight and how people see colours that is something that both or
neither of us are “correct” because of the openness of that aspect of life. Everything has the
possibility of being contested and interpreted differently because of the complexity of
humans and objects themselves but due to different types of knowledge such as scientific,
observable, and societal knowledge the levels of interpretation lessons or increase due to
these factors and their value to the individual.
