The Lost Art of Pure Worship (pages 17-

What makes our worship pure is not our surrounding, but he intent of our hearts. It is not

about attaining perfection, and it is the type of worship that is initiated by the love of the

worshipper, not out of obligation or because it just has to be done. The more we know about

God’s love, the more we are able to love Him, because our love for God is only a response to the

love he first showed us. The more we know and experience God’s love, the more we are moved

to worship Him. Pure worship requires us to see that we are loved by the one we worship, not for

what we do, but for how He sees us.

The first mention of worship in the Bible is in the story of Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac.

This is a sign that worship is not only about singing in the midst of the congregation of believers.

It is a matter of being a living sacrifice, being desperate to please God, surrendering to Him and

usually comes from an inner motivation. Thanksgiving in worship releases God’s supernatural

blessings opens the way for blessings and also seals those blessings. We need to praise God not

just for what He has done, but also for who He is. God commands everything that has breath to

praise Him, and only the dead cannot praise God. Praise is more preferable when we do it

ourselves.

A life of pure worship can only be possible if one has the oil (a life that is hidden in

God), an inward journey with the holy Spirit
