5.11.3 Strength test of armrest in Z direction
The test shall be done at normal temperature, and the door trim plate assembly shall be attached to the support
or installed onto the vehicle body.
a) Planar pressure: In the relative flat area on an armrest with the weakest strength and the area of more than
50mm×100mm, as shown in Figure 4, apply a downward 500N force, reach the maximum pressure within no
less than 1s, and keep the force applied for 5-6s.
b) Spherical pressure: In the area on an armrest with the weakest strength, use a round ball of 38mm diameter
in head to press the surface of the armrest, as shown in Figure 5, apply a downward 222N force, reach the
maximum pressure within no less than 1s, and keep the force applied for 5-6s.

of the switch, switch panel and trim panel, and no any crack and other damage symptoms shall be also found
on the trim panel. This test shall be done once under the following four conditions, respectively:
+23±5℃ (at room temperature);
+80±3℃;
+38℃ and 95% R.H.;
-30+ 3℃
