Number of players: 1
Learning: creating number bonds up to 10
You will need:
- Ten Fram Cards
- Counters
- A piece of paper and a pencil
Instructions:
- Each Ten Frame has two different colored dots, pink and blue.
- Use the Ten Frame cards to write a number bond on your paper based on the
dots that are shown.
- You may refer to the sample to see how each problem should be done.
- Each bond should include a drawing of the number bond and the addition
equation that goes along with the bond.
- Complete one bond before moving on to the next card.
- You may use physical counters to create your bonds if you want extra practice.
- Complete all Ten Frame cards.
- Turn in your work to the appropriate basket.

Vocabulary:
Number Bond: is a model that represents the relationship between a total and its parts.
Total: the largest number of the number bond
Parts: the two numbers that make up the total.
Number bond sample: provides students with a sample of what their sheet of paper
should include. Students are expected to have the number bond and the addition
equation that represents the bond.
*EL students’ needs will be met because the sample shows exactly what they need to include
on their paper.
*SPED students will be given the number bonds worksheet and they can just plug in the
numbers.
*GATE students will be asked to challenge themselves and create more difficult number bonds
with larger numbers.
