What is Autodesk Revit?
Revit is a software used by Architecture students and Professional
Designers with their projects. The software captures the user’s concepts
and help them create the designs that they aim to achieve.

Autodesk Revit Interface

Revit’s interface is easy to understand thus, giving the users a chance to
maximize and organize their works. Here are some of the interface
featured on Revit.

 RIBBON
- It shows the contents that the users use in starting a project.
 APPLICATION MENU
- Just like other computer softwares, Application Menu provides
commons actions such as opening a new file, saving, extracting,
importing, and a lot more.
 QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR
- Contains tools where the user could customize the tools that
they most use.
 TOOLTIPS
- Provides information about the tools that the users would like
to use.
 PROJECT BROWSER
- Shows the different view, sheets, plans, schedules, and groups
that are linked in the projects. It also help the user organize
their works.
 DRAWING AREA
- Displays the user’s current work and the different views such a
sheets, schedules, and other plans.
 STATUS BAR
- Shows tips and information on what to do. It also shows the
group, or element type then the user highlights an object.
 OPTIONS BAR
- Located below the ribbon, and often change depending on the
tools being used.
 PROPPERTIES PALLETTE
- A dialogue box where the user can view and modify the
parameters that defines the properties of their work in Revit.

Advantages on using Autodesk Revit

1. PARAMETRIC COMPONENTS
- The components that the users make in Revit has parametric
properties in a ways that the user can edit the parameters of
the 3D form by editing the parameters of its 2D form alone.
2. LANDSCAPE DESIGN
- Revit excels in creating realistic visuals, because of this, the
users could add a lot of things in their models that could help
their work appeal to their clients.
3. ENERGY EFFICIENT DESIGN
- Revit has a feature that helps the user measure the
environmental impact of the models they are creating.
4. NO PAPER DOCUMENTATION
- In this day and age people often prefer digital documents rather
than printouts. With Revit and its easy documentation, the user
would no longer need rims of paper for documentation.
5. HUGE LIBRARY
- Unlike other softwares, Revit give the user an opportunity to
create a new component, such as furniture, that can be saved in
Revit’s library for later use.

CONCLUSION: Why use Revit?

Not only does it helps the users create their floor plan but it also
automatically shows its sections, elevations and even the 3D model. Not
only that, it has a features that enables the user to measure how their
models would impact the environment with the green initiative. It is
organized and students like me would have an easier time making plans
and would help us consume less of our time giving us more opportunity
to do other school activities and other things that are not school related.
