TOK HW

INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE

HW1: Create a real life knowledge Question for Environmental

awareness.
Question: Evaluate the consequences of banning products
causing Global Warming.
HW2:
1. Should representatives of indigenous knowledge systems
be included at talks on global problems such as climate
change? Consider arguments for their inclusion and
arguments that could be used to deny them authority on
these matters.
1. Representatives of IKS are equal inhabitants of earths as
those who support modern technology and are not from
IKS. This fact, and the fact that they are also affected by
global problems, gives them a right to be a part of talks on
global problems. While Indigenous Peoples own, occupy, or
use a quarter of the world's surface area, they safeguard
80% of the world's remaining biodiversity which provides
them a strong base for participating in these talks and have
their say in important global issues.
On the other hand, the fact that they may not have the
required knowledge and understanding of the global
problem may cause the bases for denying them the
authority to these matters.
