PURPOSE
1. To become familiar with electromagnetism and its technological applications.

2. To improve problem solving skills.

3. Using appropriate instruments for defined physical measurements and developing skills
in recording, reporting and interpreting experimental results.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is the second course in the two-semester fundamental sequence of calculus-based
physics, covering electromagnetism. Subjects covered include electric fields and potential,
capacitance, currents and resistance, magnetism, inductance, Maxwell’s equations and
geometric optics.
METHOD
1. Attend lectures, labs and problem sessions regularly.

2. Solve problems, contact the instructor and assistants when you’re stuck.
