Closure
Prevention is better than cure as they say. It is better to know the status
of your health for early detection of abnormal signs and avoid getting
ill/sickness. Screening tests or health appraisal is as important as living a
healthy lifestyle. As an adolescent, your personal health is very important
especially at this stage where you are growing fast and developing maturely.
So, be responsible of your personal health and take action while you are
young.

Schools play a critical role in supporting and guiding children and adolescents in
eating healthy and getting regular physical activities. Schools provide learning opportunities
to support these behaviors by implementing wellness policies and practices and using an
effective health education curriculum. Assessment and monitoring of Basal Metabolic Rate,
deworming, Drug prevention education, Reproductive Health, Hygiene, sanitation and safe
water are Health program implemented by the school in partnership with the local
government and other stakeholders. Qualified professionals such as school nurse, dentist,
health educators, physicians and Barangay Health Personnel help in providing these services.

As the old African proverb says, "It takes a village to raise a child." One could
imagine then that it would take communities to raise a school. When schools and community
organizations work together to support learning, everyone benefits. Partnerships between and
among community organizations and schools strengthen, support, and even transform
individual partners, resulting in improved program quality, more efficient use of resources,
and better alignment of goals and curricula (Harvard Family Research Project, 2010).
