INDIVIDUALITY:
I want to explore into individuality which is present in
the play “Road” through Jim Cartwright’s presentation of
personal stories by the use of monologues.

As a practitioner I want to show that a whole community

may face similar issues however people are affected
differently as individuals.

Everyone has unique struggles, coping mechanisms

and personalities which vary juristically from case to
case:
Everyone has their own MOTIVATION known as the
Stanislavskian technique “Objectives.” In acting for
Camera, I am exploring into Active Analysis, Action and
Counter Action.

Today, people can express themselves more freely,

subjects which were taboo such as sexuality and
mental health are more widely accepted, people are
more able to express themselves without being shamed
and ostracized in society.

2. DEPRESSION:
Mental health is a large theme in road the
character’s are largely depressed or restricted
and suppressed in society by the government and
their circumstance.

Mental health is also an extremely relevant issue;

My Target for the previous Project 3 was to:
“Create a thought-provoking piece about relevant
issues.” By exploring into Depression for Project
4 I could achieve creating a thought-provoking
piece about a very relevant issue.
As a practitioner I could create a platform to
speak about depression and start a conversation,
where people feel less alone and more unified.
The number of people who struggle from mental
health issues has also increased throughout the
pandemic.

3. COMMUNITY:
The problems that individuals face relates to the
issues that are present in the community. A
community is powerful as a collective of people shown
by the Miner’s Strike in the 1980s, while Margret
Thatcher was Prime Minister and the country was
experiencing Thatcherism.
This relates to protesting today such as for Black
Lives Matter, Sarah Everard and Climate change.
