Plan & Longitudinal Profile

a) Service road grade at Ch. 162.650 to Ch. 167.700 is 5.42% which is exceptional
gradient and shall be preferably not more than 3%.
b) At the start & end of the approach road, valley curve shall be introduced to make
the profile smooth to merge with existing road.

2. Longitudinal of Both Side Service Road & Drain and pipe culvert
a) At Ch. 162+430 the invert level of Pipe culvert is 507.612, however at this
location the drain invert level is 507.064. For effective drainage the invert level of
pipe culvert shall be either @ same level or below the drain invert level.
b) Flow direction shall be shown in longitudinal profile of drain.
c) There is no provision mentioned for disposal of storm water @ ch. 162+240.
Disposal of storm water shall be in CD structure only, otherwise the stagnation of
water create unhygienic condition.
d) Drain Invert Level @ Ch.162+680 to Ch. 162+800, @ Ch.162+680 to Ch. 162+800
and @ Ch.162.860 to Ch. 163+200 is proposed above GL in the drawing. Please
check and modify accordingly.

3. Reinforcement details of Drainage

a) Typical cross section of drain proposed in the drawing as trapezoidal type open toe
drain and closed box drain. The locations are not mentioned in the drawing.
b) Storm water discharge carrying capacity of proposed drain shall be submitted.
c) Overland width storm water discharge shall be considered for calculation of discharge
carrying capacity of proposed drain.
d) Detailed design of box drain shall be submitted.

4. GAD of LVUP @ Ch. 3+890

a) The drainage spouts are not shown in the drawing. The effective drainage shall
be provided as per clause no. 6.8.2 of IRC:SP:84-2014.
b) Wearing coat above the raft shall be provided.
c) 600 mm thick filter media behind the abutment/vertical wall of box shall be
provided as per IRC:78-2014.
d) Tar paper bearing shall be provided between approach slab and bracket.
e) In sectional Elevation (A-A), thickness of soling shall be mentioned.
f) Mention a Note "Location of Structure. Camber. Gradient. FRL. Width of
Structure, Bed Levels. Invert Levels. Founding Levels. Skew if any. Flow
Direction. SBC under Foundation etc. should be verified jointly with the
Representative of Independent Engineer at site prior to execution of work" in
General Arrangement Drawing.
5. Reinforcement details of single cell box culvert @ Ch. 3+890
a) Detailed design shall be submitted.
b) The LVUP is 23 dgree skew is proposed in GAD. From the reinforcement details of
single cell box culvert, it is not clear the reinforcement is proposed parallel to skew
direction or square direction. For better clarity and avoid the confusion at site detailed
plan of reinforcement proposed shall be incorporated in the drawing.
c) The cover to the reinforcement shall be mentioned in the drawing.
d) Exposure condition shall be mentioned in the drawing.
e) Notes shall be mentioned in the drawing listed below:
1. Lap shall be staggered and not more than 50% bar shall be lapped at any
location.
2. Anchorage length shall be provided as per clause no. 15.2.4 of IRC:112-
2011.
3. Overlapping od splicing of reinforcement shall be provided as per clause
no. 15.2.5 of IRC:112-2011.

6. Typical details of crash barrier and approach slab

a) The LVUP is 23 dgree skew is proposed in GAD. From the reinforcement details of
approach slab, it is not clear the reinforcement is proposed parallel to skew direction
or square direction. For better clarity and avoid the confusion at site detailed plan of
reinforcement proposed shall be incorporated in the drawing.
