    As a role of the product manager, I would have discussed with the Thai sales manager about the
    practice of child labor and its unacceptability as an ethical work practice in companies and global
    criticism. I would ask the manager from Thailand to check the scope for organizing the
    manufacturing of toys to ensure standard work practices and acceptable manufacturing process
    as per international standards. The cost savings for the company are substantial but in the long
    run the source and manufacturing practices are also important to be justified for ensuring trust
    with business partners and customers.

    The reasons for spontaneous decision are related to personal gains for the manager (who would
    get performance bonus) and the company ( which would be able to reduce the cost to one third
    and thus improving profitability) which is obviously important to be competitive in the industry.
    The company policy would also, most probably find this association against the ethical values.
