Caricatures

Caricatures: comes from the word ‘caricare’ an italian word meaning to exaggerate.

Caricatures are “representations in which the characters distinctive features are deliberately
exaggerated to produce a comic or grotesque effect.” Caricatures purposely mess up features to
be funny.

3 Guides to Follow When Drawing a Caricature:

1. You have to be able to tell who the drawing is of.


2. You have to exaggerate some features.
3. You are making a statement with a caricature.
