FAKULTAS TEKNIK UNIVERSITAS RIAU T.P. 2020/2021 Women Emancipation
According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary, emasipation is liberation
from slavery or equality of rights in various aspects of community life, such as equality of rights of women and men. Furthermore, women's emancipation means the process of detachment of women from low socioeconomic positions or from restraints. Long ago, women were deliberately positioned below men in social caste. Indonesia with thick customs certainly is not much different. During the colonial era, Indonesian women were not allowed to pursue higher education. Even today, the expression 'why high schools will only end up in the kitchen later' is also often buzzing in the ears of the community. Indonesian women were also required to accept partners who were sought by their parents. Of course it is injuring a woman's right to be able to choose her own life partner. The worst thing is, many parents used to force their daughters to marry a nobleman just to elevate their families. This is what happened to Kartini. RA Kartini, one of Indonesia's female heroes who was willing to fight for the people during the colonial period. She is remembered as an educated woman who fought for the emancipation of Indonesian women. RA Kartini's biography itself is worth remembering. Starting from his childhood to death. RA Kartini had hopes for gender equality at that time. Because in the past, women were not valued so they did not get proper education. Where women are only assigned to take care of her husband, children and cooking at home. With his persistence, RA Kartini struggled so that women were not oppressed and could be equal with men. To commemorate his services, the following biography of RA Kartini can be emulated. In this modern era, the term emancipation has experienced a shift in meaning. It's just that most women still don't understand how to apply it in concrete steps. If Kartini used to struggle so that women could get their rights, now women's emancipation can actually be realized with easier steps. One simple form of emancipation is when women do not depend their lives on anyone and learn more independently. While in the daily sphere, emancipation can be done starting from the smallest things, for example by becoming an agent of change in a small community, such as in a friendship group or at home. The role of agents of change in influencing people to do good things is far more challenging than doing large, less desirable activities. Therefore, by doing simple things and bringing good and benefits to the surrounding environment is a form of emancipation. Other forms of emancipation can also be done by doing good to others and valuing what they have as a form of gratitude for the gifts that God gives. But you should, do good not done half-heartedly, even more so if you do not have high morale. In addition to emotional, spiritual, and intelligence intelligence, adversity quotient is also important to master. If someone is consistent in doing something, but there is no inner struggle, then it will be difficult. Motivation is actually in each of them but depends on how individuals focus on the motivation they have. Women's emancipation does not merely focus on equality between the rights of men and women to get equal opportunities in various fields. The true meaning of women's emancipation is about how a woman can develop and progress over time without losing her identity. By understanding the meaning of women's total emancipation, women participate in giving emancipation to society and the state.
