Scope and Delimitation

The research was primarily focused on understanding and describing the living experiences

of being TikTokers. Researchers have developed a connection between one's perception and the

knowledge of the TikTok phenomena to the world of which he or she is exposed to.

Participants in the study will include five teenagers and young adult Tiktokers in Binan,

Laguna who were widely known for using TikTok to highlight their talents by creating

innovative and authentic videos. These TikTokers are already considered as micro-celebrities as

they have thousands and millions of likes and followers on their own, thanks to their influence in

uploading creative ways and activities in the mobile application. They are already more than two

years in satisfying the viewers of Tiktok , but also motivating themselves to create consistent

content for other users to enjoy and entertain.

Definition of Terms

The following terms to be used in this study are defined conceptually and operationally:

Fame this is the state of being known or talked about by many people, especially on account of
notable achievements.

Minute is a unit of time usually equal to 1/60 of an hour or 60 seconds.

Fame in a Minute is a short-lived media publicity or celebrity of an individual or phenomenon.

This expression was inspired by Andy Warhol’s words in the future, everyone will be world-
famous for 15 minutes.”

Exploring the act of searching the purpose of discovery of information or resources.

World A distinctive class of persons or their sphere of interest or activity.

TikTok is a massively popular app that lets its users create their content and share videos up to
60 seconds long. Lip-synced music videos are the most popular on it. This app has given
platforms to a number of young social media influencers.

User-generated content (UGC) is any kind of content which typically comes in the form of
text, photographs, videos, social media posts, ratings or testimonials produced by people rather
than brands. It is a media content generated or developed by the general public and not by hired
professionals.

Tiktokers is someone who got a platform for regularly creating videos on the TikTok
application.

Bracketing or epoche, refers to a process where the researcher creates distance from the
previously held theories and assumptions in order to become a nonparticipating observer of
conscious experiences of the world (Bertelsen, 2005).

Horizonalization is the process through which the research places all of the data collected
together
and treats this data as if it has equal value (Merriam, 2009).

Theme Clustering or Clusters of Meanings is the third step in phenomenological data analysis,
in which the researcher clusters the statements into themes or meaning units, removing
overlapping and repetitive statements (Moustakas, 1994).

Textural description is a description of “what” participants have experienced in terms of the

phenomenon (Moustakas, 1994).

Structural description or imaginative variation is a step in which the researcher writes a

“structural” description of an experience, addressing how the phenomenon was experienced by
participants in the study. It involves seeking all possible meanings, seeking divergent
perspectives, and varying the frames of reference about the phenomenon or using the imaginative
variation (Moustakas, 1994).

Overall Essence is the goal of the phenomenologist, this is the reduction of the textural (what)
and structural (how) meanings of experiences to a brief description that typifies the experiences
of all of the participants in a study. In other words, this is the combination of textural and
structural descriptions (Moustakas, 1994).
Significance of the Study

The study could be immensely beneficial to Tiktokers for it serves as a reflection of showing
their true selves by challenging themselves into being real as today' new cultural influence.
Especially, to show them their opportunity in expressing themselves openly and creatively,
engaging and connecting with other users.

The results of this study may also help Followers to understand the content creators, besides
that the tiktokers provide fun and give motivation to the people also teenagers by creating their
own content.

The findings would also give Parents the financial support by creating videos and do live,
and that’s started earning money on TikTok, and creators can then collect the money they have
received. TikTok takes a cut of this money, and creators can receive the other piece in their
PayPal or Gcash.

The research may guide the Department of Education in improving the student engagement
in classes to remain connected, as they are a great educational resource that encourage growth
and learning in an interactive manner.

The product of the study may also benefit future researchers as they may come up with a
more in-depth study of the lived experiences of future rising tiktokers. It could serve as an input
in conducting similar studies relating to its possible effects to any educational or behavioral
development changes beyond the use of TikTok.

The totality of this undertaking greatly brought intellectual gains, moving insights, and
character empowerment to the researchers. The research process widened their horizons,
strengthened their character, and tested their perseverance.
