The 21 Irrefutable
Laws of Leadership
By John C. Maxwell
Tining is bunch of like-minded individuals selected from among Letran Calamba’s
students and employees united by their love for music. The name of the group,
‘tining”, is a Tagalog word that means calm and clear. This is the desired sound of
Tining – calm and clear voices achieved through long hours of disciplined
rehearsal. Through songs rendered a capella, Tining highlights the power of the
human voice to put into music the vibrant culture of our people. Tining’s music
prowess is recognized in the local and national music scene, and is regularly
invited to perform for the community events, such as Pasinaya of the Cultural
Center of the Philippines, the cutural festivals in the City of Calamba and the
Province of Laguna, the Siete Palabras in Sto. Domingi Church and many more.
In December 2013, Tining competed in the Sing N’ Joy Manila International
Competition and brought home the championship and a Golden Diploma award in
the Mixed Choir category which also qualities them to compete in the Interkultur
World Choir Games for the next five years.

Leaders Give Power to Others
• When leaders fail to empower others, it is usually due to three main reasons:
• Great leaders are both highly visionary and highly practical. Their vision
helps them see beyond the immediate. They can envision what’s coming and
what must be done. Leaders possess an understanding how:
o Mission provides purpose – answering the question, Why?
o Vision provides a picture – answering the question, What?
o Strategy provides a plan – answering the question, How?
14. The Law of Buy-In – People Buy into the

As you strive to become a better example to your

Raising Players to Their Potential

17. The Law of Priorities – Leaders Understand
That Activity Is Not Necessarily Accomplishment
The Pareto Principle – if you focus your attention on the activities that rank in the top
20% in terms of importance, you have an 80% return on your effort. For example if you
100 customers, the top 20 will provide you 80% of your business, so focus on them.
The Three R’s – requirement, return and reward. Leaders must order
their lives according to these three questions:
1) What is
Required?
2) What Gives the Greatest
Return?
3) What Brings the Greatest
Reward?
