Instruction:

The following are scenarios in a multi-cultural setting. These scenarios may have bearing on effective
and successful, or the opposite thereof, local and global communication.

You are tasked to come up with two (2) responses for each scenario. In each of your response, analyze
the PLUS (positives), the MINUS (negatives), and the INTERESTING (not quite positive but not quite
negative also). Afterwards, you will decide which response is the most appropriate and most effective.

Write all of your answers on this sheet. This activity is due today, before 12:00nn. When you are done,
take a screenshot of each page of this task and post it at the GE 7 group chat. Remember: answer first,
screenshot, then post.

SCENARIO 5

Your cousin Allison who is half-American visited you and your relatives here in the Philippines. Since
most of them live in Manila, you were the one who had to travel to Luzon to spend time with them. In
one of your “gala”, you and three of your cousins including Allison decided to ride in a jeepney going
to Alabang. To reach there, you have to pass through EDSA and at that time, the traffic was really
horrible. Allison was feeling very hot and sweaty and starting to get annoyed by it. She exclaimed, “I
can’t bear the traffic and pollution anymore! And it’s so freaking hot, it’s even worse than New York!”.
The other passengers frowned at her looking askance. What would you do?
