IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA IN EDUCATION

ABSTRACT:

This Article intent to showing the relation between two most essential institutions of the
contemporary world that is media and education. It provide for the scope of media and its
role pertaining to education. It also deal with the various way by which media can be very
helpful for the student pursuing education bet it higher education or the primary one. This
article is representing the extensive and extreme role of media in education context.

INTRODUCTION

Education is the way or process of acquiring knowledge or learning. It is not only confined to
our class rooms and text book rather it is a holistic process and is eternal which continue to our
life time. Even the regular happening and surrounding society educate us in one or other way.
An educated person is asset to the society because educated one have ability to do something
for the well being of human at large.

The term media is derived from Medium, which means carrier or mode. It basically denotes an
item which is designed to reach people at mass. The term was first used with the advent of news
paper and magazines but gradually with development of television, radio and internet the term
media has broadened. In this modern era media has become very essential part of human being
almost as essential as food and clothing. And it left no doubt that media is playing very
outstanding role in strengthening the society. Its duty is to inform, educate and entertain the
people. It helps us to know the current scenario and happening of the world. Media has
immense social and cultural impact on the society due to its inherent power to reach at people in
mass.

However, media being such great importance for the well being of society it still have some
demerits and being manipulated by the politics, adulterate by mixing of fake news.
