What do I want to learn about the ancient towns? How can I use my English knowledge to speak about ancient
towns?
1.4 INFORMATION:
Archaeologists and scientists look for ways to learn about ancient people by studying their geography,
government, religion, inventions, and daily life, to discover how people lived and what they accomplished
thousands of years ago. Archaeologists have learned a great deal about these early civilizations from the
artifacts (man-made objects) they left behind. Come meet your clever, creative ancestors! They were a riot!
Very early humans probably ate mostly plants, fruit, nuts and roots that they found. Any meat they got was
by scavenging after other animals. Early humans did not have strong claws to help them him fight. They
could not outrun saber-toothed tigers or cave lions. Early humans had to get smart to survive. They had to
use reason and invention. Here are four very important vocabulary words .

3. GROUP LEARNING
Classroom Museum:
Gods, Goddesses, Demons and Monsters
The people of Mesopotamia believed that their world was controlled by gods and goddesses, demons and
monsters. There were hundreds of gods who were responsible for everything in the world, from rivers and
trees to making bread and pottery. Each city was protected by its own special god or goddess and their
family. Large temples were built in the center of the city for these gods to live in. Priests looked after the gods
with special rituals. There were also smaller temples throughout the city where ordinary people could make
offerings.
3.1 In group of three, choose one of the following list of the most important gods, goddesses, demons and
monsters and bring information to class to create a draw and exposition for the classroom museum.
