1. Literacy is the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute,
using printed and written materials associated with varying contexts.
2. Traditional Literacy the integration of listening, speaking, reading, writing and critical thinking. It
includes a cultural knowledge which enables a speaker, writer or reader to recognize and use
language appropriate to different social situations while New Literacy arises from new
technologies include things like text-messaging, blogging, social networking, podcasting, and
video making. These digital technologies alter and extend our communication abilities, often
blending text, sound, and imagery.
3. There are many types of literacy because of its uses and the compatibility.
