Honor
"BEING TRUE TO THE BEST IDEALS OF A SOLDIER."
Honor is the military's crowning value, the hallmark of military conduct, the
nature of the soldier's awareness of the individual dignity and self— worth. The
soldier coveys his honorin meeting the military basic from prelude and crusade
to the consequence. Regardless of the field, honor is regarded in one's self as in
the other. The outward, honor is found in cleanliness of the individual,
courteousness, decency in daily living, and reasonability in the utilization of
individual and national resources.

Service
"FULL AND STEADFAST COMMITMENT TO SERVE. "
"Those who serve, it's service before self', a strong desire to put oneself in service for
our country. A commitment to step up and serve knowing the cost he or she might
have to pay.

Patriotism
"STEADFAST COMMITMENT TO SERVICE. TRUST, FAITH AND
ALLEGIANCE TO FELLOW SOLDIERS AND COUNTRY. "
It is the foremost nature of a soldier to love his country. The country is the land
of his birth, the cradle of his people. It is for the country that soldier willingly
commits to a life of service. This is the highest value that the Filipino soldier
possesses. It is not measured by money or rank or possessions and it endures
through him and is kept alive by those after him. It is the energy that drives the
soldier as the defender of national sovereignty. He stands by his oath of service
with a stout heart, knowing that even if he is ultimately left standing alone or
when dying in the battlefield, he rests content with the thought that his reason
for existence has been fulfilled. It is this love of country that pervades every
citation of valor for deserving soldiers, valor that further uplifts the spirit of
the nation.

The Profession of Arms and Military Professionalism

Professionalism is the conduct, behavior and attitude of someone in a work or any


work related environment. Professionalism leads to workplace success, a strong
professional reputation and a high level of work ethic and excellence.

Military professionalism is a totality which forms the basis for how individuals,
groups, and the military itself acts to perform its job. There can be no skill without the
discipline to train. There can be no adherence to discipline without the commitment to
endure.

The Code of Ethics of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is very clear on how the
organization and its every members should and will be. When the eyes of the public
are focused on the AFP especially on the issues of diminishing among the ranks and
files and politicization of certain groups of men-in-uniform, On this scenario, the
observance of the AFP Code of Ethics will enable individual soldier to move and act
on the most rightful manner. Following are the salient articles in the code of ethics
