- Relate non-fiction to the word informational
- Explain that it is not made up like story books
- Explain that it gives you concrete information
about topics, it does not change from person to
person
- It is NOT opinions
- It is facts about real people places and things
- Ask if they have ever read non-fiction books on
raz kids?
- Make sure they understand that you need to write
non-fiction books as if it were for an “alien”

Read short passages aloud, have students identify
