GS 462/194 GULF STANDARD 1 2. 3. 32 33 34 35 3.6 SINGLE - USE RIGID AND SEMI - RIGID PLASTIC CUPS AND CONTAINERS FOR PACKAGING BEVERAGES, MILK PRODUCTS, AND ALLIED PURPOSES SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION This Gulf standard specifies general re: semi-rigid plastic cups, containers and cl a products, and allied purposes. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The product material shall comply with the approved Gulf standard for that material, It shall be homogeneous and free from foreign materials, swelling, air pockets and industry defects. The surfaces of the product shall be homogeneous in colour and shining. Product material shall not have any hazard effects on the public health and shall not cause changes in construction and properties of the prepackaged material. Product closures shall be suitable, such that when the product is filled and inverted, the closure will remain in position and there will no leakage of the prepackaged material. The cups shall be tested bacteriologically according to the specified standard method to make sure tlie absence of any contamination before handling in the markets and packaging. MEASUREMENTS Cups and containers shall be manufactured according to its purpose for use. It shall met general requirements mentioned in item (3). LABELLING The following information shall be declared on the product in Arabic language*.
