1- Types
 Type I - Liquid
 Type II - Gel
 Type III - Medical and antiseptic
2- Requirements

2.1 Homogenous, free from abrasive matter. It may be contain humectants and
emollients. It may be perfumed provided that it does not leave an
unacceptable odor on skin and does not change when stored at ambient
temperature.
2.2 All raw materials shall be health acceptable in Iraq or country of manufacture.
Does not contain any organic solvent.
2.3 Do not cause any precipitation or separation and retains its consistency after
keeping it in a sealed glass bottle at (4.5 ± 0.5) °C for 24 hours then at (50±1)
°C for 24 hours.
2.4 PH: 6.0 - 9.0.
2.5 Viscosity at 25°C - For Type I and Type III as received: 500 – 2700 mPa
-For Type II: 4630 – 9850 mPa according to SABS SM 126.
2.6 Foam: Gives foam when tested according to SABS 1221.
2.7 Skin irritation: Does not cause irritation for the tester when tested according
to SABS 1330.
2.8 Cleaning efficiency: Not less than 95٪ of the cleaning efficiency of the
standard cleaner according to SABS 1221 and SABS SM 1081.
2.9 Storage ability: The product characteristics are not affected when stored for
12 months from the date of production in the original closed
 containers at normal conditions and no separation or precipitation occurs
and the product complies with the requirements stated above.
2.10 Disinfection ( Type III only):Kills All bacteria when tested according to SABS SM
261.
2.11 Microbiological examination
- Total micro-organisms count, 500 colonies/g max.
- Total moulds and yeasts count, Nil.
- Total pathogenic micro-organisms count, Nil.

2-12 Radiation contamination: as stated by the authorized entities.

3- Marking
3-1 Each container shall bear the following information:
- Name and the type of product
- Name of manufacturer or trade mark.
- The following warning "excessive use may be dangerous to skin).
- Date of production (month/year).
- Net weight or volume in SI units.
- Country of manufacture.
- The following information(Type III only):
 Directions for use.
 The term "FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY ".
 Warning: - avoid contact with mucous membranes, eyes, nose and
cracked skin.
 In case of contact, wash the area with a large quantity of water and
consult the doctor in case of eyes.
 Does not use for injured and scratched or irritated skin and lanolin -
sensitive skin.
 Keep away from the reach of children

4- Packing

The product should be packed in suitable sealed containers that do not affect or be
affected by the product.
