CHAIN OF CUSTODY
The Aim

The CoC Certification Standard is to ensure

Segregation and Traceability
throughout the supply chain of the
GLOBALG.A.P. certified status

But NOT Food Safety

9
CHAIN OF CUSTODY
The Concept

1. Identification - Registration in the GLOBALG.A.P. Database and GGN or

CoC Numbers

2. Input check - Verification of certified status of purchased products and

supplier’s certificate validity

3. Labeling - Products with CoC Number and /or producer’s GGN

4. Traceability system - Segregation of certified and non-certified products

5. Mass balance - Validation of the system through mass balance

6. Certification - Approved and accredited independent Certification Bodies

10
CHAIN OF CUSTODY
Implementation
Cooperation with IFS (International Featured Standard)
• Joint IFS and GLOBALG.A.P. CoC audit is allowed
Cooperation with BRC (British Retail Consortium)
• The joint audit through BRC Voluntary Module 10. (launched in August
