CONCLUSION

In summary, the consumption of sugar sweetened beverages by the Mexicans has led to the
high increase in un-infection but chronic diseases like Hypertension and Diabetes thereby
necessitating the Ministry of Health to enact a law on tax increase in all sugar sweetened
beverage.

The high rate of these dieses has also caused the government of Mexico high expenditure in
the management of its citizens with Hypertension and diabetes, so taking a serious measure
like increase in tax for such items might help in the reduction of such illnesses.

However, a more critical survey and analysis should be carried out as some sweetened
beverages might also be used in the production of relevant drugs like cough syrups.

Therefore, increasing taxes on them might impoverish the people of Mexico.
