Introduction:

Review of Previous Concepts/New Learning:

Let students know we will be working on their throwing and
catching skills today. It will be normal stuff you all now but it
is good to practice good technique.
Transition – gather in for instruction in gym, sanitize and
masks on for gym.

Body:

Learning Activity 1:
- Work on students throwing and catching skills.
- Reiterate we need to be throwing with the opposite foot.
Demonstrate throwing with the same foot and then
opposite foot. “What is the difference, do you see how
much more power I have with the opposite foot?”
- Have them try throwing with the same then opposite
foot, demonstrate follow through and have students
work through it

Tchoukball Practice
- Have students split in half
- Give every student a dodgeball
- We will practice throwing and catching against the
Tchoukball net.
- Students one by one will take turns throwing the
dodgeball with correct form at the net and then
catching it wherever it may rebound.
- We will do this so each student has a chance to hit the
net ⅔ times.
- Gather students in and explain the rules of Tchoukball

Transition - have nets be put away. Students gather in.

Learning Activity 2:
Tchoukball.

- Have students gather to explain Tchoukball.

- There will be 2 nets on either end of the gym.
- Students will be in teams of around 7depending on how
many students are in attendance today.
- Students can pass 3 times before they must hit the ball
on the net
- No interception to start but eventually we can.
- THe ball needs to bounce on the net and not be caught
by the other team before it touches the floor.
- Students on the opposing team try to catch the ball
after it bounces
- The team gets a point if they catch the ball the
opposing team threw on the net. THis will help students
practice catching and throwing skills.

Transition - sanitize balls and hands, calculate tournament

points

Consolidation:

Review of Key Concepts/Point to Next Class:

Tomorrow we will work on Accuracy!

Stage 4: Reflection

1. How the students responded to the lesson as planned and taught:

2. Specific strengths of the lesson plan and delivery:

3. Specific weaknesses in the lesson plan and delivery:

4. What must be addressed to improve this plan?

5. How I have grown from this teaching experience:

THis lesson went super well! Students were improving their throwing skills while aiming at a
target. I gave students feedback so that they could take this feedback throughout their game. I
got to see everyone throw the ball so it allowed me to assess their improvement. One thing I did
mess up on was forgetting to get them to bring their pinnies but students were very eager to run
back and get them, to avoid wasting time. I was able to get the rest of the class into groups
while they were getting their pinnies.
For the actual game of Tchoukball we were able to play 2 rounds each team. Students loved the
game and participated well. This was a game where with more practice and engagement they
were able to understand the game more. Students really loved the rebound so another game
with this rebound net would be great. I learned getting in there and helping them really allowed
me to help with the rules as well as the kids who may not of wanted to play as much.
