Byrakuppa

Bairakuppa, a small village in Karnataka, is separated by the river Kabini from

Wayanad district and the residents there depend on the healthcare facilities
available in Wayanad.

Thousands of villagers in Kerala and Karnataka joined hands to construct a

makeshift check-dam across the Kabani river on the Kerala-Karnataka border
on Thursday to tackle drought-like situation in the region.

Its wonderful to imagine that there will be bridge connecting Keral and
Karnataka in this region. But the reality is too far from us. For every election
there will be glimpse of hope thrown into the hearts of people but it never seen
its fulfillment for the last 15 years. Lets Hope that some where in the future
there may be some one who would stand up for the cause of the people of this
region. So that may lives will be protected from falling into this river every
year. Please join hands together for the needy of Byrankuppa.

Bairakuppa bridge did not happen yet. foundation was established on 1994

Perikkallur Kadavu in Wayanad and Bairakuppa in Karnataka are the villages

on both sides of River Kabani

Bairakuppa, which hardly has any medical facility, is just 25 km from Pulpally
and Mananthavady. But the nearest place with medical facilities in Karnataka
for the people of Bairakuppa to access is Mysore, which is 80 km away.
