S E S S I O N O N E 1
Overall, Level 2 was really about understanding what it means to be
the cause in your life. Level 3 will help you to live proactively every
day while learning to let the Light flow through you. You will learn
how to make the distinction between the voice of the Opponent and
the voice of your Soul, the Light. You will also learn how to start
having a consciousness for other people.

In this level, you are supposed to feel a wall.

That means that you have gotten close to the real cause—
the place where things can change.

Did you know?

An iconic symbol of the Cold
War, the Berlin Wall divided
East and West Berlin for 28
years, from the day
construction began on August
13, 1961, until the wall was
dismantled in 1989. When the
East German government
announced on November 9,
http://www.remote.org/frederik/culture/berlin/ 1989, after several weeks of
civil unrest, that entering West
Berlin would be permitted, crowds of East Germans climbed onto the
wall and crossed over, joined by West Germans on the other side in a
celebratory atmosphere. Over the next few weeks, parts of the wall
were chipped away by a euphoric public and by souvenir hunters;
industrial equipment was later used to remove the rest of it. The fall of
the Berlin Wall paved the way for German reunification, which was
formally concluded on October 3, 1990.

We will be using the Zohar more in this level.

The Zohar is our access to the Perfected World. In every session, we

will meditate upon a section from the Zohar. Read the explanation
that describes the specific Light that is revealed in each section.
Meditate on it with the desire to have this unique Light revealed in
your life.

We highly recommend that you purchase the full 23-

volume Zohar set. We will talk more about the specific
power of the Zohar in the next session. For now, just
know that having the Zohar in your home changes the
Light ratio in your life and is a necessary part of your
spiritual work.

The Power of Aramaic Letters

For 3400 years, the technology of the 72 Names of God lay hidden in
three biblical verses in the story of Exodus, each verse containing 72
letters. The verses describe the parting of the Red Sea before the
people of Israel as they fled bondage in Pharaoh’s Egypt.

The mystical power of the Aramaic letters that parted those waters can
likewise part whatever Red Sea now confronts you in your own life. This
spiritual technology helps to break down the walls in your life. The
revelation of these Names after so many centuries is in itself
revolutionary. Through the work of Rav Ashlag and Rav Brandwein, the
technology of the 72 Names of God has become available to everyone,
along with the knowledge of how to activate that technology and
manifest its benefits in our daily lives.

the teachings of the Ari....

The Ari could see farther than any of the greatest

kabbalists of his time, and his ability to perceive and
understand surpassed even kabbalists who were on a
greater spiritual level than he was. Chaim Vital, a student
of the Ari, once asked his teacher how he was able to
reach such a high level of consciousness. The Ari
revealed his secret: He never gave up! When he wanted
to reach a new understanding, fulfill a desire, or be open
to the Light, he would cry, meditate, study, beg, and pray for weeks,
months, or years—however long it took before he broke through to a
higher level and removed the blockages to receive it.

Rav Chaim Vital complained that the gates did not open for him in that
way. The Ari explained, “You have one of the greatest souls that ever came
to this world. But because you have such a great soul, you also have a
great darkness to overcome. Within you, there is an exact balance of good
and evil.” Thus, the gates didn’t open for Rav Vital because he had not
accepted responsibility for the judgment he aroused and for the darkness
he had to overcome. But by working hard for several years—feeling and
showing intensity, desire, passion, drive, endurance, and patience—he
would be able to break down the wall and be free. The Ari reminded his
student that he needed to have the consciousness of never quitting to be
able to overcome his darkness and reveal the Light within him.

S E S S I O N O N E 1
In Level One
You removed your blockages by:
Accepting that you were operating with the belief that life was
happening to you and that you had no control over it—that you
were a victim. Once you became aware of that limiting belief, you
chose to no longer be a victim and instead to know that
everything infinite in the Universe is available to you.

In Level Two
You removed your blockages by:
Accepting spiritual responsibility in understanding the cause-and-
effect process. You made the decision to take this journey, that
this journey is important to you, and that without your making a
conscious decision, nothing is really going to change.
Continuing to proactively integrate positive tools to overcome the
destructive patterns in your life.
Accepting responsibility for literally everything in your life and
knowing that the power to create miracles is in your hands.
Having the knowledge that the Light is always there. In a split
second, everything can turn around if we can change our
consciousness.
Knowing that your Ego is powerless if you have the courage to
face it head on. You learned about the Opponent and the Ego and
that there are forces in your life that make you feel as if everything
is against you, as if everything is trying to take you down. The
truth is, however, that those forces are simply trying to squeeze
everything that is amazing and great out of you.
Understanding that addiction is not just a problem of people who
are substance abusers—both those who acknowledge their
problem and go to 12-step programs and those who do not.
Addiction to alcohol and drugs are certainly serious things, and
we addressed them, but we also addressed how we are all
addicts—that each and every one of us is addicted to feeding our
Ego in some way.
Learning how to eliminate chaos in any situation by injecting
certainty.

The Turning Point

Learning not to let yourself run away from what you need to
correct the most. We talked about astrology and the different
signs, and about how astrology is not about what we read in
magazines or the newspaper. Astrology is actually a powerful,
spiritual tool to help us connect to our positive tools and to be
aware of the negative parts of our consciousness. We also
learned of some of the amusing, more reactive aspects of every
sign.
Continually embracing your capacity to expand your Vessel,
awakening your surrounding Light, and sharing unconditionally.
You understood what it really means to be a Vessel for the Light,
how to expand your Vessel, how to share, and what sharing really
means—how sharing is a state of consciousness, not simply
giving things to somebody.

You may need more than one day to process these

sessions. We recommend that you work through this

Sir Isaac Newton (4 January 1643 - 31 March
1727) was an English physicist, mathematician,
astronomer, natural philosopher, and alchemist.
He beat Albert Einstein in a 2005 Royal Society
poll that asked who had the greatest impact on
the history of science. His treatise Philosophiae
Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published in
1687, described universal gravitation and the three
laws of motion, thus laying the groundwork for
classical mechanics. By demonstrating
consistency between Kepler’s laws of planetary motion and this
system, Newton was the first to show that the same set of natural laws
governs the motion of objects on Earth and of celestial bodies. The
unifying and predictive power of his laws was central to the scientific
revolution, the advancement of heliocentrism, and the broader
acceptance of the notion that rational investigation can reveal the inner
workings of nature.

When Columbus set sail, everybody was convinced his ships were going
to fall off the edge of the Earth. Not Columbus. More importantly, the key
supporter behind Columbus was a great 15th century Spanish scientist
by the name of Abraham Zacuto. Abraham Zacuto was one of the few
people—if not the only person—who told Columbus, “Yes, the world is
round.” Columbus actually translated all of Zacuto’s geographical,
astronomical, and navigational teachings from the original Hebrew into
Latin and they accompanied him on his journey.

Dr. Harry Gershenowitz, who is a great scholar, wrote, “The technical

success of Columbus’ voyages should be attributed to his familiarity with
the scientific contributions of the rabbinical scholar Abraham Zacuto.”
Gerschenowitz added, “Columbus, like Zacuto, did not believe in the
model of a flat Earth.” So it begs the question: Where did Zacuto get this
information? It turns out that Zacuto was a great scholar of the Zohar.
Furthermore, a quote from the Zohar states that the world is round.
That’s where Zacuto got the information.

GLOBE ARE SEVEN LANDS. All the creatures OF SIX OF
THE LANDS are different in their appearance according to
the difference in the atmosphere in each place, and they

The Zohar is the CAUSE.

definition:

Effect-Consciousness (n.)
1. a focus on the miracles caused by the Zohar rather than on the power of the Zohar itself.

The Light of the Zohar emanates.

Separation in religions is the result of connecting to the Effect rather

than the Cause. If you put Jesus, Mohammed, and Moses in a room
together, they would be the best of friends. The only book that
connects you—without any separation—to the Cause and the Light is
the Zohar.

Misconceptions about the Zohar :

You must be a 40-year-old male scholar to study it.
You can go crazy if you read it.
Letters or symbols you don’t understand cannot benefit you.

[ 18 ] LEVEL 3 . THE LIVING KABBALAH SYSTEM™

S E S S I O N T W O 2
All of these misconceptions come from the world of Effect-
Consciousness.

Did you know?

According to kabbalistic tradition, kabbalistic knowledge was known to
and transmitted orally by the Jewish patriarchs, prophets, and sages
(Avot in Hebrew), and was eventually integrated into Jewish religious
writings and culture. According to this tradition, Kabbalah was, around
the 10th century BCE, an open knowledge practiced by over a million
people in ancient Israel, although there is little objective historical
evidence to support this thesis.

Foreign conquests drove the Jewish spiritual leadership of the time (the
Sanhedrin) to hide the knowledge and make it secret, fearing that it
might be misused if it fell into the wrong hands. The Sanhedrin leaders
were also concerned that the practice of Kabbalah by Jews deported
through conquest to other countries (the Diaspora), unsupervised and
unguided by the masters, might lead them into wrong practice and
forbidden ways. As a result, Kabbalah became secretive, forbidden, and
esoteric to Judaism for two and a half millennia.

In contemporary Orthodox Judaism, a person must be at least age 40,

mature, and married to begin studying Kabbalah—a direct influence of
the Sanhedrin decision of secrecy carried forward over 2500 years.
Despite these restrictions, Kabbalah became of interest to non-Jewish
scholars and thinkers in medieval times, while in modern times its key
texts and principles have been gradually translated and published and
Kabbalah has become of increasing interest to the general populace.

How to Access and Channel the Zohar

The Zohar’s greatest limitation is that it is packaged in the form of a
book. Thus, without understanding its immense and amazing value,
it is easy for us to disregard it. The Zohar is a powerful spiritual tool,
and each section has the ability to activate and draw into our lives a
specific type of Light. The Zohar explores and explains the concepts
of reincarnation, visionary experiences, and the presence of unseen
influences in our midst. We now have the capacity to understand the
Zohar’s teachings and receive its Soul.

By bringing the Zohar into your life, you will discover its meaning for
yourself.

You need the Zohar to reach your full potential.

The power of the Zohar is perfection.

The Zohar is the beginning—the seed of everything.

All tools stem from the Zohar.

[ 20 ] LEVEL 3 . THE LIVING KABBALAH SYSTEM™

S E S S I O N T W O 2
Everything in our life can be made better by connecting to the power
of the Zohar. With this tool, we have the ability to tap into higher
levels of consciousness; in every aspect of our life, more is possible
than we can know or even dream. Each gift within us has the
potential to be perfected. However, most of us never reach this level
of perfection because we don’t strive for it. Instead, we strive only to
achieve the effects that we think will bring us happiness.

You need to find your unique perfection to do what you

came to this world to do.

The Path of the Zohar

A small amount of perfected Light was saved from and unaffected
by the sin of Adam.
The first Tablets at Mount Sinai contained this perfected Light.
However, this Light was again hidden when Moses broke the
Tablets after the Golden Calf.
Rav Shimon channeled and decoded this perfected Light into
physical form as the Zohar.
Thus, the Zohar stems from the perfected Light that has been
saved since the beginning of Creation.

Even the greatest people in history did not tap into the full
perfected potential of the Zohar—immortality and an end
to all pain and suffering.

The Light contained in the Zohar represents the

only hope of a solution to the chaos that has
afflicted humanity since the beginning of history.
By bringing the consciousness of the Zohar into
your life, you help end chaos, pain, and suffering
for all people around the world.

The Zohar is a self-generating power source that we can tap into. By

being true to and secure in our own selves, we are able to recharge
and give more to others. When we are truly free, we are just
ourselves.

place.

Satan is powerless in the world of the Zohar.

Use it to defeat Satan and break down the walls.

Even on a spiritual path, we can still feel empty.

Often when we feel empty, we will fill that emptiness with

anything.

When problems arise, our usual solution is to go do

something else instead of trying to fix the situation that we are
already in. Thus, we may change our venue or the players in the
experience—but not our reality.

Rather than reacting robotically to our every desire

and being the effect, we need to become the captain of
our own desires and the cause of our own fulfillment.
We need to ask ourselves, “What is it about me that is
making this not work, that is making this not a success?”

Each time we effect a spiritual transformation of our

nature, we create the Vessel to choose sharing over
receiving, fulfillment over emptiness.

The Light wants you to have it all.

When we feel empty, it’s a sign that we are not doing

our work, that we are not building our Vessel to have
success.

If you succumb to the temporary comfort offered by emptiness, you

are settling for far less than you want and deserve. Ask yourself,
“What can I do for my vision today? What more can I do?” The
Creator gives us an empty bottle every day and asks, “How will
you fill it up?” If we don’t fill it up with actions of sharing, of
transforming our Desire to Receive for the Self Alone, of going the
extra mile, we feel empty.

( Zohar , Safra Detzniuta , Verse 1)

The Zohar tells us that we should want more than we’ve ever
imagined—and that the Light will bring it into our lives. This portion
awakens our desire for more in every area of life as well as the
understanding that there is always even more to want. It brings
consciousness of the need to continually deepen both our grasp of
spiritual wisdom and our fulfillment from life—to never be satisfied
with our present situation.

An anti-solution for facing what is difficult for us is to just
escape and run away.

Escapism is mental diversion that allows us, by means of
entertainment or recreation, to “escape” from perceived unpleasant
aspects of daily stress. It can also be used as a term to define the
actions people take to try to help relieve feelings of depression or
general sadness.

Some believe that this diversion is inherent in today’s urban,

technological existence because it separates people from their
biologically normal natures. Entire industries have sprung up to foster
the growing tendency of people to distance themselves from the rigors
of daily life. Principal among escapist tools are fiction literature, music,
sports, films, television, role-playing games, pornography, recreational
drugs, the Internet, and computer games. Many activities that are
normal parts of a healthy existence (e.g., eating, exercise, sexual
activity) can also become avenues of escapism when taken to extreme.

The Four Anti-Solutions for Emptiness

1. Filling the emptiness with anything
2. Changing the venue
3. Escape
4. Denial

At this level, thinking that we have already worked through all

of our Garbage is actually a trap of denial. In spiritual work, if we
don’t keep on growing, we are moving backwards. It’s like standing
still on a downward escalator: If we are not working hard to push
forward, then we go back. There is always another wall to break
down. Only when we truly see the darkness can we understand how
much Light is concealed on the other side of that wall.

The Cave
Everyone has a place that is his or her secret inner
sanctuary. It is the part of us that we don’t want disrupted
and that we don’t want others to know about. Sometimes
it is even something we are ashamed of. It is that safe
place where we can be alone. No one else gets to go there
because we don’t let anyone else in. The cave is a place
where we are victims. This chaos feels better when we are
alone in the cave than when we are with somebody else.

Regardless of who we are, regardless of how many

friends or family we have, we all have a cave. Each of us
has at least one situation (or one person) in our lives that
we are constantly running from. We avoid dealing with it,
touching it, feeling it, acknowledging it. But no matter
where we live, what job we have, or what relationship
we’re in, this situation continues to pursue us. The
problem is that if we don’t let it catch up with us, if we go
on with our lives refusing to touch it, we have no chance at
all of defeating and eliminating it.

Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem

the capital of a future Palestinian state. Thus, the status of a united

United Nations and much of the international community. The conflicting
claims to Jerusalem are based on a complex web of religious, political,

entire body was his right eye. His caretaker helped him create an
alphabet of “eye blinks,” with which he dictated his book, The Diving-
Bell and the Butterfly. In his book, he gave an insight to what his
condition was like—what he regretted, cherished, and still lived for. He
described his paralyzed state as “the diving bell”—his heavy 1 Percent
physical form. On the other hand, he compared his inner self to a
“butterfly.” His journey was a moving understanding of the richness of
the 99 Percent, which he felt even as he struggled to interact with
others on the physical plane. Bauby died just two days after his book

Could you have initially seen the good in these situations?

Accept yourself as you are!

Often, we think we are inadequate and fail to see our Vessel’s

world has something about himself or herself that they do not
accept. We run away from ourselves by judging what we aren’t and
postulating about what we think we should be. However, until we

We need to feel the pain of others as our pain.

The world is like one body.

If our foot is suffering from gangrene, the rest of the body cannot be
chaos-free. Even though it seems that we are all separated, we are

We affect the world in a global way. For example, there are two
people having a heated argument in the Congo in Africa. At that
same moment, you are in a situation here where you have the
opportunity to resist, but you lose control and explode at someone
else. Your rage—that little bit of energy you released towards
negativity and chaos—changes the energy in the Universe. Suddenly
the person in the Congo loses control and begins to beat his friend.
As quantum physics explains, there is no such thing as time or

actually linked.

The phrase tipping point or angle of repose is a sociological term that
refers to that dramatic moment when something unique becomes
common. The phrase was coined by Morton Grodzins, who studied
integrating American neighborhoods in the early 1960s. He discovered
that most of the white families would remain in the neighborhood so
long as the comparative number of black families remained very small.
But at a certain point, when “one too many” black families arrived, the
remaining white families would move out en masse in a process known
as “white flight.” He called that moment the “tipping point.” The idea
was expanded and built upon by Nobel Prize-winner Thomas Schelling
in 1972. A similar idea underlies Mark Granovetter’s threshold model of
collective behavior.

Did you know?

The yawn reflex is often described as contagious: If one person
yawns, this will cause another person to yawn “sympathetically.”
Mythbusters attempted an experiment documenting this effect in an
episode entitled: “Is Yawning Contagious?” with a conclusion of partly
confirmed. The proximate cause for contagious yawning may lie with
mirror neurons, i.e., neurons in the frontal cortex of certain vertebrates,
which, upon being exposed to a stimulus from conspecific (i.e., same
species) and occasionally interspecific organisms, activates the same
regions in the brain. Mirror neurons have been proposed as a driving
force for imitation, which lies at the root of much human learning, e.g.,
language acquisition. Yawning may be an offshoot of the same imitative
impulse.

At a distal level (in terms of evolutionary advantage), yawning might be a

herd instinct. Other theories suggest that the yawn serves to
synchronize mood behavior among gregarious animals, similar to the
howling of the wolf pack during a full moon. It signals tiredness to other
members of the group in order to synchronize sleeping patterns and
periods of activity. It can serve as a warning in displaying large, canine
teeth. This phenomenon has been observed among various primates.
The threat gesture is a way of maintaining order in the primates’ social
structure. The contagion of yawning is interspecific; for example, a
human yawning in front of a pet dog can incite the dog to yawn as well.
Oddly, sometimes sympathetic yawning may be caused by simply
looking at a picture of a person or animal yawning, or even by seeing
the word “yawn.”

This session is about the “cause” behind Kabbalah. It is about the
people who broke down the walls of consciousness to bring
Kabbalah to this world. Kabbalah started as raw Light, and
throughout the generations, it has been broken down into a system
that can be used to help correct everyday problems. The
technology is now accessible in the 1 Percent World, but this
process took a lot of work.

Two Reasons to Connect to the Lineage of Kabbalah:

1. To help maintain the original Cause or consciousness of the
Light so that we don’t get caught up in the Effect by solely
seeking what Kabbalah can do for us. Kabbalah is much more
than just fixing one problem.
2. To allow us to fully connect to the wisdom by appreciating the
people behind the history.

Remember, what made these kabbalists great was not what they
knew; it was who they were and how they broke down their own
walls that made them stand out. Their teachings made them
immortal.

The Evolution of Kabbalah’s Teachers

1. Adam: Taught us the importance of failure and that failure is
part of the journey.
2. Abraham: Was the first conduit to the Light of the Creator.
3. Moses: “The Faithful Shepard” He gave with no agenda of

4. Rav Shimon bar Yochai: Had total control over the Opponent
and lived in the world of Cause-Consciousness.
5. Rav Isaac Luria (the Ari): Made Kabbalah accessible by
creating a system to understand the 99 Percent.
6. The Baal Shem Tov: Made it okay to be “human” and study
Kabbalah.
7. Rav Elimelich & Rav Zusha: Took Kabbalah to the people.

8. Rav Ashlag: Embodied the idea that all walls can come down
and made things happen without limitation.
9. Rav Brandwein: Was about loving people. He changed the life
of all those he touched.
10. The Rav & Karen Berg: They share separate but equal
teachings:
Karen was the first true woman teacher of Kabbalah. Because
women are the ones who manifest reality and are thus the
force behind all revolutions, it was through Karen that
Kabbalah has been able to reach its full potential. She has
brought Kabbalah to everyone, everywhere, and in every
medium possible.
The Rav represents the lessons of the entire lineage in one.
He has all of the tools to actually finish the job.
11. The Centres: We are here to share this information with you so
that together we can change the world. Together we will create
a collective consciousness that can bring about heaven on
earth—the Perfected World.

Secrets of the Zohar

( Zohar , Chadash Tikkunim , Verse 114A)
Connecting to the Zohar is actually an experience of going back in
time to the moment in history when a great revelation took place at
the gathering of all the righteous Souls. Moreover, the Zohar itself
predicts that when it is at last revealed after so many centuries of
concealment, multitudes of people will gather to connect with it. It is
this gathering around the Zohar—like entering an ark—that will
enable the world to fulfill its purpose. By connecting to this portion,
we awaken the Zohar’s Light of protection and bring about the
revelation of its Light in the world.

Kabbalistically, reincarnation explains why everything in our movie is
the way that it is. To look at reincarnation is to look at the whole
picture. When you understand your Soul’s journey and process for
growth, you are able to understand your true potential.

definition:

Re · in · car · na · tion (n.)

1. rebirth of soul: in some systems of belief, the cyclic return of a soul to live another life in
a new body.
2. literally “to be in the flesh again” from the Latin, caro, which means “flesh”; hence carnis,
which translates into “of the flesh” plus re, which means “again.”

Nothing is random. There is a system.

The Wheels of the Soul

There is a Cause and Effect system by which our Soul moves
throughout time. The journey of the Soul gives us an opportunity to
be successful on our path to spiritual fulfillment.
1. The promise: Before our Soul comes into this world, the
Creator makes it promise to live by the spiritual laws of the
Universe.
2. Conception: The consciousness of our parents during
conception will determine the process our Soul will experience
throughout its lifetime.
3. Pregnancy: While our Soul is in the womb, angels come to
teach it everything it needs to achieve its maximum potential.
Right before birth, an angel comes and taps it on the lip,
making it forget everything it learned.
4. Ages 0 to 3: The Soul relives the movie of its past incarnations
in its dreams at night.

Cycle of the Soul

The identities of the individual human beings will have

changed, but the level of the Soul will be the same.

The issues that the Soul needs to deal with will also be the
same and will remain so through many incarnations until
those issues are finally resolved.

The power of knowing that there is a system gives us the

opportunity to make the right choices.

Reincarnation is not exclusive to Kabbalah.

Did you know?

Reincarnation, literally “to be made flesh again,” is a doctrine or
mystical belief that some essential part of a living being (in some
variations only a human being) survives death to be reborn in a new
body. This essential part is often referred to as the Spirit or Soul, the
“Higher or True Self,” the “Divine Spark,” the “I” or the “Ego” (not to be
confused with the Ego as defined by psychology). According to such
beliefs, a new personality is developed during each life in the physical
world, but some part of the being remains present throughout these
successive lives as well.

Belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon. This doctrine is a

central tenet within the majority of Indian religious traditions, such as
Hinduism (including Yoga, Vaishnavism, and Shaivism), Jainism, and
Sikhism. The idea was also entertained by some ancient Greek
philosophers. Many modern Pagans also believe in reincarnation, as do
some New Age movements, along with followers of Spiritism,
practitioners of certain African traditions, and students of esoteric
philosophies such as Kabbalah, Sufism, and Gnostic and Esoteric
Christianity.

Feelings of pain, suffering, and emptiness can be from a past life. We
can work and fix the shortcomings that we are aware of, but we should
know that the energy that is generated from our good actions and
deeds can heal, cure, and cleanse even actions we are not aware of
from a previous life.

The Light provides opportunities in keeping with the debts that we owe
from some action taken in a previous incarnation. These opportunities
do not just come our way randomly. The Light is like a really good
accountant, helping us generate the metaphysical money we need to
support our true potential and transform our behavior to assist our
Soul’s correction.

We all experience problems in our lives, and Kabbalah teaches that

Part of the cycle of our Soul’s journey is death. When our Soul

No matter what is in your past, you must forgive yourself.
When we beat ourselves up over past actions, we become puppets
for the Opponent. If we don’t forgive ourselves, we cannot fix
ourselves. Thus, we cannot be complete and accomplish what we
came here to do.

When we fail to connect to the Now, we miss

priceless opportunities for spiritual growth.

The Opponent has conditioned us to worry by “encouraging” us to

view everything through either the lens of the past or the demands
of the future.

When we are stuck in the place where we don’t forgive, our energy
seeps out and eventually we crash.

Look for the good and Light inside yourself.

Everything is possible when we see this.

In Kabbalah, there is no such thing as guilt.

Guilt-technology is the power of the Other Side.
The only thing that a mindset of guilt can
accomplish is to live in the past and to not move
forward.

We have to constantly push ourselves to see the

opportunities for growth each step of the way.
When we fail to see these opportunities, we
disconnect from the Light and hold on to the
false belief that we can not accomplish big
things today.

the meaning of the metaphors used in this passage, such as the
Tree of Life and the Sefira of Binah. When Moses speaks of a “taste
of the Tree of Life,” this refers to a complete connection with the
Zohar in heart, mind, body, and soul—including even the sense of
taste. Through the deep connection this study brings, we move
ourselves and the whole of humanity closer to the end of all pain,
suffering, and even death.

Kabbalistic Calendar: Unlike other calendars which help

us track time, the Kabbalistic Calendar is a daily, weekly,
monthly, and yearly guidebook that outlines what type of
energy is available and when. The Kabbalistic Calendar
follows both solar and lunar rotations.

Being able to predict what type of energy will be available

at different times enables us to anticipate and plan our
actions accordingly.

The sun is connected to the middle six Sefirot, the channels.

The moon is connected to Malchut, our world.

Our job is to unite the two powers—the sun and the

moon—in order to understand their influence upon us
and to connect to the Source of Power.

Most people have no clue that the holidays are actually Days
of Power. Traditionally, we reduce them to historical
commemoration. As Rav Berg explains, the holidays are much more
than mechanical rituals or remembrances of events from the distant
past. Instead, they are opportunities to literally remake ourselves into
the beings we were intended to be at the time of Creation: joyful,
fulfilled, loving, and free from suffering in any form. This is what the
holidays can give us. These Days of Power are, in effect, the points of
connection throughout the year to specific types of energy.

Life brings many situations that we simply can’t handle alone. We
need help, and Kabbalah offers wisdom through the energy of
specific times of the day, week, month or year for facing life’s
challenges. The kabbalists further explain that, when a righteous
person dies, it is at that moment of death that his or her full Light is
revealed. This day allows us the power to gain the assistance of the
soul of the righteous. With this portion, we connect to the great soul
of Rav Shimon bar Yochai and draw his assistance to our lives when

The principle of free will has religious, ethical, and scientific

an omnipotent divinity does not assert its power over individual will and
choices. In ethics, it may imply that individuals can be held morally
accountable for their actions. In the scientific realm, it may imply that
the actions of the body, including the brain and the mind, are not wholly
determined by physical causality. The question of free will has been a
central issue since the beginning of philosophical thought.

Exercise Your Free Will

We have had free will since the beginning of time.

The origin of free will started with Adam and Eve. However,
contrary to popular belief, Adam was not punished for the first bite
of the apple. Before that bite, he didn’t know what the ability to
choose was like. However, when he took another bite, he knew
what he was doing. Thus, it was actually the second bite that
shattered the Vessel, creating free will. By Adam choosing the Tree
of Knowledge and the connection to the 1 Percent instead of the
Tree of Life and the connection to the 99 Percent, the original Vessel
was shattered. Adam and Eve connected to a realm where
physicality, limitation, and death exist.

The cosmos is reduced at the physical level to two energy

1. Tree of Life
2. Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

the teachings of Rav Berg....

It’s not what you do; it’s what you do with it and
how you do it. Do you know how much work you
have to do to see the truth? The Zohar says that
whatever we do is a lie unless we are consciously
acting with truthfulness. Then we earn seeing a
higher truth—and that is free will. So whatever
you do, do it truthfully. Whatever comes your
way, do it with all of your might, and that will give
you the opportunity to see the next level of
truthfulness.

S E S S I O N F I F T E E N 15
The concept of free will seems fairly simple in theory. It is
much harder in practice. It is about constantly learning from
your mistakes and then making new choices every day. Every
person’s ability to choose is according to their Vessel and their
capacity to share.

Our highest level of free will is to empower others.

We all have the capacity to share, to empower others,
and to accept others as they are, wherever they are, and
without judgment.

In many ways, it would be much easier not to

have free will and to connect directly to the Light!

Be present: Connect to who you are.

What Are Angels?

Angels are particles of energy. They “clothe” themselves in air

a hierarchical system of angels, messengers,
celestial powers or emanations, and the study of

Why Do We Need Angels?

We cannot plug directly into God because we could not handle the
direct energy. Angels are the interface, the channels that act as a
communication system between the 99 Percent Reality and us. We
don’t worship angels, but they’re important in the sense that we
need them so that we can dial in and communicate with the 99
Percent Reality.

All angels have a specific job.

Some Types of Angels

1. Archangels
2. Guardian Angels
3. Angels of the Day
4. Angels of the Zodiac
5. Dark Angels

We are directly responsible for the angels in our lives—and which

angels will come in touch with us. Angels do not have a Desire to
Receive; they have a purpose. Their essence consists of a particular
packet of energy, which we draw upon through our words and our
deeds. Whether angels are supportive or work against an individual
depends on the level of the consciousness of the individual.

Angels of the Day

A day of the week is a window of energy, and each day has a
particular energy. Each is governed by different angels who is
assigned to provide us with support and protection for that day.
Angels of the Day are specific packets of energy that control each
day.

SUNDAY: From a kabbalistic viewpoint, the first day of the week is

Sunday. On this day, we can tap into the seed of everything, the
DNA of the Universe, and on this day, there are no separations
between day and night. There is only Light and complete blessing.

MONDAY: Monday, the second day of the week, represents the

birth of heaven and hell—the origin of physicality, of duality. Monday
is a negative day, and we need all the assistance from angels we
can get. It is a day without blessing.

TUESDAY: This is a day of rejuvenation, and according to the Bible,

this is the day that grass and trees were created. Judgment is
removed on this day. Tuesday is the perfect framework for
beginnings.

S E S S I O N S E V E N T E E N 17
WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday, the sun and the moon were
created, and these two luminous beings competed to establish who
would rule. Wednesday symbolizes the birth of Satan as a negative
force, an insidious Opponent in our lives, who lives inside us and
constantly steers our thoughts toward destruction.

THURSDAY: This is a neutral day with no dramatic energy to call

attention to itself. Thursday is a bridge day to Friday.

FRIDAY: Friday is the sixth day, and while it is the day the beasts
were created, it is, more importantly, the day man was created. Man
is the only creature who can transform his nature, and spiritually
evolve. That transformation is our task—at least when our
consciousness is high enough to recognize it.

SATURDAY: Shabbat is so holy it’s not considered a day but rather

a special gift of Light we get for free. On this day, the Light is given
freely to humans simply by virtue of it being Shabbat.

Contacting Angels of the Day

Kabbalists have constructed a tool for contacting the
Angels of the Day. The Aramaic letters of the Zohar are
channels of energy. With the right consciousness, you
can simply scan the letters, and by gazing at particular
sequences of letters, you connect to their energies. Each
angel represents the unique energy of its day. Open the
Dialing God book and scan the angels of the day. It’s that
simple. Do the same for every other day of the week. The
morning is a good time for this practice because there is
less clutter in your mind and you’ll experience less
resistance in connecting with the angels.

Your Guardian Angel

Each of us is assigned to a Guardian Angel who escorted
our Soul into this world at birth and who will leave us when
we die. Our Guardian Angel travels alongside us through
the journey of our lives. It creates tests to help us elevate.
It pokes us if we’re veering off the path. It’s our teacher,
friend, and foe—our spiritual partner in this life.

Think of your Guardian Angel as your personal elevator to

the World of Answers. If we live in the 1 Percent Realm,
we don’t have answers, only questions. We want to know
why our prayers go unanswered, why we suffer, why we
die. Many veils cover us and keep us from the truth. We
must gain access to the World of Answers to address our
questions. Angels, especially our Guardian Angel, help us
attain levels that we can’t achieve on our own merits. They
make the connections. Their purpose is to bring Light into
our physical World of Questions. They’re the wiring system
that draws the energy down and draws us up.

When you are going through a hard time, when you are
questioning, you can reach out to your Guardian Angel for
answers. Your Guardian Angel is always with you.

Often the voice inside our head is that of an angel trying to

help guide us on the best path.

The Mask originated as a comic book series by publisher Dark Horse

Carrey; a spin-off television cartoon series; and a 2005 film sequel, Son
of the Mask. In all versions, the story revolves around a magical mask,
which gives anyone who places it on their face nearly limitless power as
well as an altered appearance characterized by a large set of teeth and
a green head. Furthermore, the mask affects the personality of the
wearer by removing all personal social inhibitions.

Taken another way, the wearer takes off his metaphorical masks—his
social inhibitions—by putting on an actual mask. Not only is the
wearer’s Id totally in control, but the power imbued by the Mask gives
him or her the ability to realize those impulses. Therefore, the
capabilities of the Mask are entirely dependent upon its wearer.

The Power of Truth

Secrets of the Zohar

( Zohar , Balak , Verse 357)
Each of us has within us a part of the Creator, which is the Soul, and
which gives us the power to accomplish or change much more of
ourselves than we might ever imagine. But to make use of our
power, we first need to be aware that it is always present within us,
even at the moments when we feel weak, small, and incapable of
change.

“In the beginning, a person develops a

feeling of love and a desire to impart and
fill the needs of his friends and family. As
he develops further, this trait of imparting
increases within him to include the others
in his city or his nation. This continues until
he develops a love for all mankind.

When you touch truth, everything changes. Take
responsibility and step into who you really are. We are
all going through this process together. When you make a
switch, the people in your life and circle of influence will
also change.

To teach is to learn.

When you share information with others, do not preach or teach (in
the traditional sense)—take the path with them.

Did you know?

You and every other soul on this planet are inextricably
linked; you are all parts of the same body. And just as you
cannot cut off your own hand and spare the rest of your
body the repercussions of such an act, you cannot
withhold your love from another person without affecting
the whole of humanity.

When you understand that we are all on a journey

together, you come to realize that your neighbor, your
loved ones, and even strangers on the other side of
the planet are not separate from you at all. There is no
division—there is no “me” and “them.” We can all learn from
each other.

L I G H T– WO R K . B R E A K I N G T H E WA L L S ™ [ 183 ]
We Are All on this Journey Together

There is only Oneness.

Before we can really help someone else, we have to clear

our own Garbage.

If we cannot love, we cannot share. And if we cannot

share, we cannot come closer to the Creator, Who is
complete sharing and love.

Real love is the highest form of giving.

To reach ultimate love is to be in a place where you care for

somebody else as you care about yourself, to feel someone
else’s pain to the same degree you feel yours, to feel someone
else’s excitement as if it were your own. Many people say, “I love
you. You’re in my soul, my heart,” but most people don’t realize that
what they are really saying is, “I need you. I’m getting something
from you.”

Secrets of the Zohar

( Zohar , Ki Tisa , Verse 54)
One of Kabbalah’s most important teachings is that in any
endeavor, to be successful, there must be unity and love among
everyone involved. To bring the greatest possible Light into our lives
through our study of the Zohar, we, too, should grow our capacity to
love others. This portion brings awareness of the importance of
unconditional love and helps us awaken that love in ourselves.

The way to know we’re moving forward in our

spiritual path is if we are being tested.

definition:

doubt (v.)
1. to feel unconvinced or uncertain about something or to think that something is unlikely
2. to suspect that something is not true, likely, or genuine, or that somebody is not sincere
or trustworthy

Doubts
Doubts are one of the biggest tests that we face. In fact,
if we’ve never had a doubt or been tested, something is
wrong. Our doubts, in fact, are an indicator that we are
actually doing our spiritual work.

The only way to achieve true certainty—true knowing—is

to overcome doubt. We must get to a place of certainty,
knowing that what we are doing in every aspect of our
life is what we need to be doing.

Most of us are stuck somewhere between believing and the

quiet confidence that comes from “knowing” God. Believing in
God includes uncertainty. Knowing is different from believing.
Knowing God is certainty—it is taking full responsibility for every
aspect of our lives.

As you make the transition from “I believe” to “I know,” you

will be able to reveal Light.

Don’t Be Attached to Results

Our agenda is not just the actions that we do; our agenda is also our
attachment to the results of our actions.

To get to a place that is real, you need to:

Do away with your agenda
Do actions that are not attached to results

Push through even when you don’t feel like it.

We are blocked by our fears and our Ego. People are

afraid to “know.” However, once we have knowledge,
there is no longer anything to be afraid of.

To “know” means to do away with our agenda.

( Zohar , Vayera, Verse 151)
Certainty is the power that draws the Light into our lives. Certainty is
the Vessel into which the Light flows. The Light of the Creator
becomes present in our lives to the degree that we have certainty of
its presence. And the reverse of this is also true: To the degree that
we doubt the existence of the Light, then to that same degree the
Light literally does not exist in our lives. Use this portion for
certainty—to manifest the greatest possible Light in your work, your
relationships, or in any area of your life in which you feel a lack.

with whom we are closest—are the real opportunities
we are given to emulate the tolerance, sharing, and
love that are the Creator’s essence.”
— The Kabbalah Centre

The responsibility now lies in the hands of many.

The Rav created a generation of kabbalists who are real people and
who are not perfect. As we grow with our teachers, we can get to
our highest level. If your intent is pure, you will grow with The Centre.
In the old days, 3 percent of the population did 97 percent of the
spiritual work. Now, we have 97 percent of the people who need to
do only 3 percent of the work each. Each of us has the capacity to
contribute by doing even a small amount of work—simply by working
on your Garbage and becoming a better person, you can help to
change the world.

We have been given a gift that we must share

with the world.

We get Light by sharing it with others.

We are obligated to share all that we receive from the
Universe.

We are all wired to want to share as well as to receive.
The only way to satisfy both needs is to share, knowing
that it will help us fulfill our own gifts. By doing this, we can
share and receive simultaneously.

Rav Elimelech says the world was created using three

things:
1. Knowledge/Study
2. Work
3. Sharing

These are not simply three ideas. They actually represent the
evolution of Kabbalah. Until the time of Rav Isaac Luria, Kabbalah
was only about study, about doing internal work and connecting to
the Creator. But from Rav Elimelech on, it became about sharing.

We’ve created projects at The Centre to help manifest this

vision.

The Kabbalah Centre is a spiritual and educational

organization dedicated to bringing the wisdom of
Kabbalah to the world.

Kabbalah is not just academic wisdom—

it’s an active way to create a better life.

Did you know?

The word “charity” entered the English language through the Old
French word charité, which was derived from the Latin caritas.

Originally, the word caritas meant “preciousness, dearness, high price.”

From this, in Christian theology, caritas became the standard Latin
translation for the Greek word agape, referring to an unlimited loving-
kindness to all others. This much broader concept is the meaning of
“charity” in the Christian triplet “faith, hope and charity,” and this is how
the word is used in the King James Version of the Bible in its translation
of St Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians.

Get involved.

How to Go from Self to Selfless Service

1. Ask yourself, “What can I do? How can I help?”
2. Know that sharing is natural. If you are a human being, it is in
your nature to share. Expand your nature to give.
3. Acknowledge yourself for sharing and focus on the potential
Light you can bring to others.
4. Be fully present. When you are with people, really be with
them—mind, body, and spirit.
5. Share when every cell of your body does not want to, when it is
uncomfortable.
6. The more you look for ways to share, the more different ways of
sharing show up.

Create a Supportive Environment
At this point, to really make this last, we need to create an
environment that supports our newfound level of consciousness.
One of the hardest tests in Kabbalah is to disconnect from people
who constantly push our buttons, as well as from people who don’t
support our growth. Don’t put your spiritual growth into the hands of
another. It’s time to take full control of your life.

If someone in your environment wants to know about

Kabbalah, it’s best not to try to share all of the esoteric
wisdom behind it. Instead, simply share the tangible,
positive changes that you have experienced so far.

Key Principles for Lasting Growth

1. Any lack you feel is a result of separation from the Creator.
2. We are responsible for literally everything in our movie,
community, and world. We must be fully aware of the power of
our consciousness in order to serve the world and tip the scale
towards the Light.
3. Work on understanding and appreciating the Zohar, while
accessing its mystical power regularly in your life.
4. It’s all good because it’s all God.
5. Our soul is responsible for making its corrections in order to
elevate to new levels.
6. Access and use the energy of the Light through angels, spiritual
guides, and specific channels.
7. All you have to be is you.
8. Share on a global level.

So, what’s on the other side of the walls?

CONCEALMENT.

Historical Examples of Concealment:

Moses went to the mountaintop.
Rav Shimon went into a cave.
The Ari went into Egypt.
Rav Elimelech and Rav Zusha traveled.
Rav Berg had a stroke.

Remember, truth must be concealed in order to be

revealed. Thus, the next step on our path to revealing the
Light is concealment.

What can we do to go into concealment?

To attain concealment:
1. Know that you are a channel and that you are no longer a
barrier to the Light.
2. Become “low-key.” Don’t involve yourself in other people’s
movies. Instead, become more focused on your life and
become busy with nothing.
3. Search for your Opponent. For the next two weeks (or longer),
write down every single negative thought, action, intuition, and
part of you. However, do not try to fix anything. Just observe
and feel it.

Once we observe Satan, his power is diminished.

L I G H T– WO R K . B R E A K I N G T H E WA L L S ™ [ 215 ]
The Bridge to Level 4: Concealment

We must force ourselves to see our Garbage and to completely

remove our denial. We need to see the depths of our negativity. We
have to give this our full attention because the minute we catch
Satan, he moves. Know that just by moving Satan, you haven’t fixed
the problem. Thus, you have to let go—just be aware and look for
your Opponent’s “resting” place.

The Light is always more powerful than Satan.

You may have doubts about your ability to defeat Satan.

Know that simply by committing to do this work, you will
overcome.
