Comments on Responses to Question 2

1. Candidate gae a good interpretation of the question. All important sociological

concepts were used and well explained.

2. Candidate has a good understanding of the Maithusian theory and was able to
successfully extract the relevant arguments and apply them to (A) Large families and
(B) Development issues.

3. The development issues identified were reflective of the Caribbean society. The
candidate was able to sufficiently explain them.

4. Candidate had good analytical skills, synthesis was clear and concise and evaluation
efforts were commendable.
