Evaluation Rubric

Areas identified as having gaps in understanding will be described by the teacher to inform future practice.

Sketchbook assignments may be resubmitted for reassessment until a final submission date is set.

Major Projects can only be resubmitted if there are circumstances that the teacher agrees warrants an extension.

0 (The work submitted does not meet the project objectives and the student made no attempt to work within the
project guidelines.)

6.5 (A clear attempt was made at some of the project objectives. but the final project is incomplete, with major
gaps in understanding)

• Some of the project objectives were attempted but major gaps in understanding exist and the project is
incomplete.

7 (A clear attempt was made at most of the project objectives, but large gaps in understanding remain)

• Most of the project objectives were attempted and are present in the final work, but there are large gaps
in understanding in most areas regarding (Composition, craft, and skills).
• The work does not show a refined synthesis of materials, processes, and ideas.

8 (This work is complete with all the project objectives present, showing a degree of success in each area, but
there may still be gaps in understanding)

• All the project objectives were attempted with a degree of success and are present in the final work.
There may still be issues or gaps in understanding in some areas regarding (composition, craft, or skills.)
• The work is not as complex as it could be and does not show as refined a synthesis of materials,
processes, and ideas.

9 (The work demonstrates a high level of success in each of the project objectives, with only very very minor gaps
in understanding. The work is starting to develop complexity and refinement in its ideas materials and processes)

• All the project objectives were completed with a strong degree of success and are all present in the final
work.
• There are no significant gaps in understanding in composition, craft, or skills. (only very very minor ones)
• There is a degree of complexity to the work, it shows a more refined synthesis of materials, processes,
and ideas.

10 (The work demonstrates a high level of success in all the project objectives with no gaps in understanding. The
work shows the highest level of complexity and refinement in its ideas materials and processes)

• All the project objectives were completed with a strong degree of success and are all present in the final
work.
• The project demonstrates an elevated level of understanding regarding composition, craft, and skills.
• There is a high degree of complexity in the work, it shows a highly refined synthesis of materials,
processes, and ideas.
