Sydney Opera House: Environmental sustainability policy for staff training

At this task I will develop an implementation plan and monitoring strategy to meet Sydney House provide. It includes the review the Sydney Opera House and completes a
sustainability implementation plan. Develop a monitoring strategy and chosen and again approval for action via using this implementation plan I will develop a presentation
or training session for the employees. And use this session to improve resource efficiency at the Sydney Opera House.

The Sydney Opera House

The opera house is both a masterpiece of 20th century organic architecture and a pioneering green building that was among the first to trial practices that are still considered
cutting edge, such as using harbor water as a coolant for air-conditioning systems

We remain true to that principle. our first environmental Sustainability Plan was implemented in 2010. Since then we have achieved significant efficiencies in energy and
resources and raised the engagement of opera house staff in our environmental initiatives to a new level.

Assessment Task 2 BSBSUS501 Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability

We believe that to realise an enduring contribution to Australia’s culture, economy and community, we must live responsibly within our environment, considering both
current and future generations. We have established Four Focus areas to drive our environmental initiatives for the next three years.

We will work with our community of stakeholders to ensure that the simple, logical and eminently practical virtues that inspired Jørn Utzon to continue to inform this site and
building. It gives me great pleasure to present the opera house’s second environmental Sustainability Plan.

Mission

The Opera house embodies beauty, inspiration and the liberating power of art and ideas. it is a masterpiece that belongs to all Australians. Our mission is two-fold:

We will treasure and renew Sydney Opera house for future generations of artists, audiences and visitors.

Everything we do will engage and inspire people through its excellence, ambition and breadth. We will strengthen our central role in Australia's life and identity.

Values

Collaboration - We will work together with a shared purpose and vision.

Community - We will be generous of spirit and welcoming.

Focus - We will not deviate from our mission and learn from experience.

Creativity - We will work with imagination.

Safety - Underlying everything we do is our commitment to work safely.

Excellence - Make it the best.

Accountability - Own it.

Environmental sustainability plan

The Sydney Opera House’s Decade of Renewal has begun. Leading up to our 50th birthday in 2023 we are working with vision and focus to renew the building, organisation,
and our art and experiences. In line with the Opera House Renewal, this sustainability plan sets ambitious targets for our 50th birthday.

We believe that to realise an enduring contribution to Australia’s culture, economy and community, we must live responsibly within our environment, considering both
current and future generations. We have established Four Focus areas to drive our environmental initiatives for the next three years.

Embed, engage and inspire change

The Opera House has the opportunity to engage the community to increase environmental awareness and influence positive change both on site and far beyond Bennelong
Point. This plan aims to maximise our influence on positive outcomes through focused initiatives. We will increase awareness of how environmental sustainability is
embedded in our business and communicate how this could be implemented in other businesses or homes. For the first time, the ESP has a focus on education and awareness
for young people, as we believe that inspiring the future generations is key to mounding a better future.

Assessment Task 2 BSBSUS501 Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability

We believe that progress in environmental sustainability can be accelerated if the focus areas of this ESP are embedded into the opera house business; and staff, visitors and
partners are engaged in achieving the ESP goals.

We have a unique opportunity to engage and inspire others to reduce environmental impacts far beyond our individual performance and to set a positive example for others.

Engage our staff

The Opera House is Australia’s most significant building, performing arts centre, cultural precinct and meeting place. We have a unique opportunity to engage and inspire
others to reduce environmental impacts far beyond our individual performance and to set a positive example for Australia.

Partnering with the Office of Environment and Heritage the Sydney Opera House completed the Sustainability Advantage module, Staff Engagement. The module assisted
embedding, engaging and inspiring staff across the Opera House and also encouraged staff to develop their own sustainable projects to implement.
