MODULE 4

RESISTANCE TESTING ON YOUR MULTITESTER

ACTIVITY

Direction: You were asked to read the Multitester where the range selector switch is
set to X100, read the resistance scale of the given items and using your note pad write
your answer or final reading of the resistance, if the reading is more than one thousand
divide the value by 1000 such that the final reading in ohms or kilo ohms as the case
maybe.

1. 14000 ohms / 14 kilo ohms 6. 1700 ohms / 1.7 kilo ohms

2. 6500 ohms / 6.5 kilo ohms 7.1300 ohms / 1.3 kilo ohms
3. 5000 ohms / 5 kilo ohms 8.950 ohms
4. 3600 ohms / 3.6 kilo ohms 9. 550 ohms
5. 2800 ohms / 2.8 kilo ohms
10. 100 ohms
CHECKING YOUR UNDERSTANDING

Direction: Answer the following questions correctly by identifying what is needed:

1. The test probes of the multitester are colored, what are these colors? _Red and

Black.
2. A component that can be tested for resistance that has primary and secondary

wirings, this component is Transformer.

3. It is a component that stores electric energy, what is it? Capacitor_.

4. Using the ohmmeter to test the resistance of a component that has commonly 4

colored bands on its side, what is this component? Resistor

5. An electrical component that converts the energy to light is called Light bulb
