Pride Sample 

 
These images are from my Signing Day, where I signed my National Letter of
Intent to play collegiate women’s basketball for UC Merced. I’ve worked
extremely hard over the last four years to have gotten an opportunity to earn an
athletic scholarship at such a great university to play for an extraordinary program.
This scholarship didn’t come easily at all. In fact, I thought that I had blown my
chances at playing college basketball when I suffered a severe ankle injury in 2019

 and resulted in me missing my entire junior season, arguably the most important
season for any recruit. I had completely torn two main ligaments and partially torn
a third in my right ankle, and had played on my ankle for eight months without
knowing it was that bad. I had to undergo ankle reconstruction surgery in
December 2019. My mental health was very bad in these months during what
should have been my gateway to college. However, through a year-long recovery
both mentally and physically, I was able to regain my motivation and drive. I could
bounce back from my hardship and gain even more out of it. My Signing Day
really showed me how much hard work and dedication I’ve put into myself. It was
all me.
