Technology Of The Internet:Advantages And Disadvantages

Nowadays,we live in a modern life where technology was a part of our daily life.Without
technology,it was hard for us to do everything because almost things we used need
technology in order to make our lives easier.Even when it comes to eat,we used rice cooker
to cook the rice.Let alone the rice cooker,actually there were lot of things with a high
technology such as smart Tvs,smart phone,robotic vacuum cleaner and many more.Among
these technologies that have been listed here,Internet was the most-used technology in the
world because it was a common form of communication.We couldn’t deny the fact in our
recent decades,the rapid advance of the technology has made the communication among
the peoples around the world much easier and faster with the Internet (Kevin Kelly,2010).It
brought many advantages for us.Even so,its wide use inevitably had been associated with
negative impacts on social interactions.

First and foremost,Informations was highly the biggest advantages that Internet
offers.We could find everything we wanted through the Internet anytime and anywhere.Just
named it,ranging from government law and services,market informations,cooking
recipes,new ideas and technical support,the lists was simply endless.Search engines like
Google,Mozilla Firefox,Opera were often used by the peoples when using the Internet. Any
kinds of information on any topic would come out upon your searching only by a click of a
button.Now with the modern technology Internet brought us,going to the library was
unnecessary anymore especially among the youngsters.How could you spill your energy
driving or walking to the library when you have Internet in your hands? Meanwhile in
education sector,students’ parents claimed that Internet brought negatives vibes to the
students.However,this depends on how they were going to use it
anyway.Unfortunately,Internet helped students by providing them the handy material and
resourches for their studies.Even shocking when in reality,students took a lots of help from
the Internet.Any problems regarding their homeworks or daily life could be found the
solutions there.Also they could search for articles of scholar and the other professional
people which could be helpful for them.

As we know,Internet make us capable to communicate with people even across the

globe using communication apps to hold video chats.Applications like Skype and Whatsapp
gave us a chance to meet the beloved ones eventhough they were far beyond our
eyes.Imagines when studying abroad,of course once in a while we gonna miss our family at
home.So how we can meet them?Thanks to the existence of technology,everything could be
done.Besides,Internet was widely-used because it was the cheapest and convenient way of
communication.The only cost we need to incur when using the Internet was paying the
Internet service provider.At some point,it didn’t really cost much.Also,there were multiples
things we could do whenever we communicate.Simple things such as greet the
people,asking their well-being,make new frieds and many more.So,this clearly shows that
Internet provided platforms where people could communicate without hesitate.

Thanks to the contributions of the Internet,shopping got a complete makeover.As we

scroll the website,we could see many of them sellings varieties of products online and we
just need to select or bid for our desired product.Thus,entire financial transactions could be
conducts through the Internet and customer could pay for the product right at the
moment.Transfer of money was no longer a times consuming job and with a simple step the
funds could be easily transfers to any place as we wish.For the ‘shopaholic’,this would be a
cloud nine for them because they could shopping from their home especially when there
were countless e-commerce platforms.Some well-known e-commerce like
Shopee,Lazada,Magento,and Shopify already had their own place in this ‘shopping’ world.To
the surprise,even students could earn from Internet through bloggers.Who said students
couldn’t earn a living? Through bloggers,students could take interest on earning through
Internet.This would be a great source of income for them at the same time they got an
experiences in writing and got to polish their talents.

However,for all its advantages and positive aspects mentioned above,of course there
were also the dark and ugly side too.Frankly,Internet allowed a great deal of anonymity to a
large number of people who may access the different websites,forums or chat rooms
available.Without knowing,this could allowed some perverted to take advantage of innocent
people and breaking their trust.Lately,we noticed news that cheaters used the Internet as
their platforms to make crimes.Commonly,the cheaters used to make friends with single
ladies and cheat them using sweet words before taking their money away.As for the victims
which was among the lonely ladies,they were likely get in trap of these cheaters.

Subsequently,numerous host of games that available on the Internet got the children
to shut all outdoor activities and they tend to be addictive with the games.Therefore,physical
activity would be absence and as the result,children could easily fall prey to a lot of lifestyle
related diseases for example obesity,besides failing to develop interpersonal skills.Apart
from these factors,sitting continuously in front the computer screen or smartphone with a
high level of brightness could seriously damage their eyes and put a strain on their neck and
shoulders.Believe it or not,these factors could create long-terms problems for them as they
were in their developing years.Moreover,children tend to become more violence as the
internet games contained violence content.So,it may affect negatively to children.

Another ugly side from the Internet was it created a number of problems for its
users.Upon using the Internet,users were told to share their informations like when sign up
to email,or log in to website.This large amount of informations would freely available on the
internet theft and misuse of this information was likely possible.In the case of of people using
someone else’s information and passing it off as their own were always happened.As
example,the hackers would use ones information to access a private
account.Additionally,Internet was harmful for kids.To tell the truth,children nowadays
explored the Internet too much as they were used to maintain Internet as their cup of
tea.This was totally worrying because Internet had provided an easy medium for children to
get exposed to pornography and gain access to it easily.I could said this when many
advertisements with sexual contents simply pop ups even the children doing nothing,just
engrossed with the games.Later on,this could cause them to become sexually-deviant or
sexually-addictive thus leaded to a bigger problems ahead.

Final finally,it was clear that the usage of technology through Internet has pros and contras
and it depends on us to use it either in a good way or other way around.The points
mentioned
above had posed new challenges especially to teachers and parents.There were demands
from various quarters that there should be some sort of regulation to check this issue.But,I
do
believe,instead of making Internet a taboo,it was a responsibility on some parties to educate
the society to use the technology for their benefit and not for their harm like the wise saying
”Action makes more fortune than caution”( Luc De Clapiers).
