INTRO
This template was made for architects, designers, contractors, and anyone wanting to
maximize their workflow.

We created the ultimate quick start template to streamline the project development
lifecycle and showcase consistent high-quality presentation drawings no matter the
situation.

The template is ready to use out-of-the-box for any project type or size and can easily
be tweaked to match the specific needs or standards of your office.

The only thing to do before using your template is to replace the branding and load in
your standard families used.

This will document will guide you through the awesome features we included to
automate your workflow and save you time and money on a project. Have fun!

WELCOME PAGE
In our template we have a welcome page that houses the project information and any
necessary project communication that should happen within the file itself; such as,
major modifications to the file, significant end dates, or time since last central file audit.
In the full version of Revit, you can set a starting view to any plans, elevations, or
sheets.

TITLE BLOCK
Our template is pre-packaged with clean and beautiful title blocks for different paper
sizes: Letter, Ledger, Arch D, Arch E1, & Arch E. Arch D or larger title blocks include
grids that you can toggle on and off to help align drawings on the same sheet and all
successive sheets. No need to eyeball aligning floor plans and elevations on separate
sheets.
The title block will also automatically populate all necessary project name, number,
addresses and revisions.

SHEETS
This template follows the most popular sheet numbering standard but can be altered to
fit your office.
We already populated a few of the most popular sheets used for a project so you can
quickly start placing drawings. Each sheet has templated general notes, legends, and
schedules specific to that sheet type so you can quickly automate updating notes
across a series of similar sheets.
The sheet organization we follow:
A000 – Project information: code information, general details, accessibility information,
etc.
A100 – Site plan, full floor plans, and reflective ceiling plans
A200 – Exterior elevations
A300 – Building sections, schematic assembly details, wall sections, and callout details
A400 – Enlarged floor plans and interior elevations
A500 – Exterior and interior details
A600 – Core plans, sections, and details: elevator, stairs, ramps, trash chutes, etc.
A700 – Schedules and legends: doors, windows, finishes, partitions, light and vent,
hardware, etc.

VIEWS
We set up a few different views showcasing our preferred naming convention to
organize views. Each level has a number assigned to simplify level identification of
new views.

TEXT TYPES
The text used for this template is Arial, which is standard for all windows machines. We
populated a few of the most popular text sizes that scale with all view templates for
both digital and printed legibility.

DIMENSION STYLES
The unit of measurement is set to US Imperial with all dimension types to match with a
few of the most popular sizes.

LINE STYLES
Revit comes with a few line types, but we enhanced and added a larger set of line
types to our template to give your drawings more depth.

FILLED REGIONS
The standard Revit template already includes a few region types, but we added and
modified a few patterns to make the library more robust.

WALLS, FLOORS, AND ROOF TYPES

Our template includes a few of the most popular pre-built assemblies used in
construction. Each assembly has a naming convention to easily identify the type of wall
used.
“STRUCTURE TYPE” – “USE TYPE” “FIRE RATING” – “THICKNESS

Each assembly includes layers, thickness’, and material finishes assigned for quick
integration into your drawing set.

TAG TYPES
We enhanced the family tags to make it easier to identify type, read, and edit the tag.

KEYNOTES
Revit has a native keynote feature that helps organize all standard plan notes across
all views. Using keynotes cleans up cluttered drawings, organizes notes into
categories, and automates note updates. Once a note is revised that same note will be
updated across the whole project. No longer will you have to worry about missing any
stray note markups!

We have created a standard keynote text file that will accompany your project so you
don’t have to set up anything!

SCHEDULES
Our project template includes prebuilt schedules ready for tagging objects, adding
details and cutsheet information.

PARTITION DETAILS
One of the more time-consuming tasks while building a model is organizing and
codifying all the different assembly details. We streamlined the process by generating
the most popular wall assembly, floors, and roof section details, with associated notes,
to schedule assemblies faster and cleaner.

PHASING
We simplified phasing in Revit. When you start a new project there are only two
phases. “Existing” & “New Construction” with a descriptor defining how each phase is
used. When adding multiple construction phases, be sure to label the scope for quick
reference.

VIEW TEMPLATES
We created a few additional view templates on top of the standard Revit template. The
setting for each view generated are based on the most popular ways to present floor
plans, sections, elevations, details, etc.
The project template will automatically apply a set view template to all new views to
save time and ensure every drawing has a consistent look.

GENERAL NOTES & LEGENDS

Another time-consuming task we incorporated into the template are standard
construction notes for different view types. We completed most of the legwork and
generated a bunch of different notes and legends to be used as a general outline for all
stages of construction.

help convey basic accessibility criteria for issuing documents.
