Good morning to everyone! To our Hon.

Vice Mayor Ton Acharon, to my

fellow councilors, to all the staff, employees, guests, friends from the media,
Magandang Gensan!

Today is a great day to celebrate the success and achievement of every

young professional in the whole world even if we are in crisis. Just recently, two
of these young professionals in the whole world were acknowledged not just
locally but internationally in the world of science, as they discovered a rare
stream frog commonly known as Gutmann’s Stream frog after almost three
decades of being unfounded, 27 years to be exact. Luckily, these two
professionals are from our city, from the home of the champions, General
Santos City.

These two are Kier Mitchel E. Pitogo, a wildlife biologist from Barangay San
Isidro, and Aljohn Jay L. Saavedra, Botanist from Barangay Fatima. They
recently contributed a study that once thought to be extinct by scientists for 27
years after how many attempts of studying in Mount Busa, Sarangani. By
conducting a biodiversity inventory at Allah Valley Watershed Forest Reserve
for their study they came across at the slope of Mount Busa which is just near at
Allah Valley Watershed where they rediscovered this amphibian specie.

To tell us more about this achievement let me welcome these young

achievers here in front, and they will inform us more of this new success in the
world of science. Let me call Kier Mitchel Pitogo and Aljohn Jay Saavedra…

--motion to suspend the house rules--

Thank you so much Sir Kier Mitchel Pitogo and Sir Aljohn Jay Saavedra for
sharing your success and objectives as a wildlife biologist and botanist. Your
success is also our success. The Generals are proud of you and we are praying
for your continued success in your field of study. Congratulations for the newly
opened opportunities and discoveries.

Magandang Gensan!
