dance, gymnastics and small-sided practice tasks in games environments. (S1.E3.5)
3rd: Leaps using a mature pattern. (S1.E1.3), Jumps and lands in the horizontal and
vertical planes using a mature pattern. (S1.E3.3)
2nd: Demonstrates 4 of the 5 critical elements for jumping and landing in a horizontal
plane using a variety of one- and two-foot take-offs and landings. (S1.E3.2),
Demonstrates 4 of the 5 critical elements for jumping and landing in a vertical plane.

Teacher Objectives: 
Extend good management to all classes, not just 1st and 4th
Have fun and engage students more one-on-one giving extensions and
challenges to keep them engaged.

Student Objectives: 4-5: Students will create with a partner an obstacle course or
dance routine that incorporates at least 5 total jumps from at least 3 of the different
types of jumps, while maintaining good jumping form (exhibiting jumping cues,
especially those for landing).
3: Students will explore and create different ways to use the 3-5 types of
jumps over equipment, ideally in a routine or mini obstacle course, but in general
extending jumps from yesterday. 
K-2: Students will explore and create different ways to use 3 types of jumps
over equipment, exhibiting safe landing.
Time- 5-10 min
Task- Choice Tag
Give students a choice and vote on what tag game they want to play today
from those we did earlier in the week, re-explain the rules as needed.
Cues- No screaming, stay on feet, tag gently

Time- 5-10 min


Task- Jump Review
Ask students what the different jumps are, and practice them for a bit before
extending/applying the task
Cues- squash, bend knees, land softly

Time- 30-40 min


Task- Creating/Exploring Jumping
4/5 will work in partners to create their own obstacle course, incorporating at
least 5 total jumps, from at least 3 different types of jumps from the five we learned.
5th will have the option to video record their course. 4th and 5th will have the
opportunity to teach and try other’s courses.
2/3 will work by themselves at first, possibly in small groups to create and
explore different ways of jumping over a few pieces of equipment
k/1 will work by themselves, exploring different ways of jumping over 1-2
pieces of equipment with the 2-3 styles of jumps.
Teacher will walk around during this giving feedback on the cues, giving
challenges, ideas, and extensions to groups and individuals.
Cues- squash, bend knees, land softly, Jump, Hop, Leap, 2 to 1, 1 to 2
