Experiment results

For 3hrs on Sunday (29-11-2020) shoppers at local grocery store, i.e. Haji Mart, Green city, were
observed for the type of shopping bags they select to carry their purchases.

Following pattern was shown

PLASTIC FABRIC

Total numbers of shopping bags selected were 414, out of which 352 were fabric bags and rest 62 were
plastic bags.

Data depicts that people prefer fabric bags in large and medium size reason could be; they can easily
carry all their purchases in one bag, as it won’t tear off unlike plastic bags by carrying large no. of goods
and consumers don’t mind paying for 1 large bag to carry all their belongings.

On the contrary, consumer prefer plastic bags when they are purchasing few items as they can easily
carry them on hands so why to pay money for it by selecting fabric bag.

Also consumer’s chooses plastic bags in small and medium size when they do variety of purchases i.e.
from edible to toiletries hence to not to contaminate the goods with each other.

Inferences:

 If Nestle Pure-life offers environmentally friendly bottles at a reasonable price with substantial
volume of water consumers will preferably buy it.
 Frequency of purchase environmental friendly bottles would increase if plastic bottles are
eliminated completely.
